Plusnet Discussion Thread

Just to update my packet loss issue, all sorted by moved to BT, line is a good one again....no packet loss........can game again and the internet is way snappier :)

Contacted CS - spoke to nice chap
Explained I want to leave coz of the £1 increase
He said no problem and confirmed I wont pay anything and contract would be cancelled.
Asked if he could try and beat BT - but I told him no point :)

Booked via Quidco - price matched via TopCashBack

Total monthly bill = £10.67 for 52 meg fibre, line rental, new router, BT TV and sport

Compared to £33 plusnet

Nice one!

How much would the £75/20 have been compared to PN?

Thinking of doing the same due to recent packet loss issues and this looks a lot cheaper. How did you work that out exactly? I tried it myself but can only get monthly cost down to £20 or so including taking off the cashback?

I paid upfront for the rental

272.03 One off payment (rental / delivery / activation)
120.00 Monthly Cost (£10) over year
-162.75 Quidco (pricematched)
-100.00 BT Gift Card
==========
129.98

129.28 / 12 = 10.77
==========

Hope this helps :)

I was on the 80/20 before and then dropped to 20/2 with plusnet - I think the 52/10 is a good compromise for the price :)

(I didn't even check the price for the 75/20 bb so not sure)

Ah, I didn't count the gift card ;) Thanks. May do that myself!

Ok went with the same deal as Spluff. One thing that is important

If you go via TCB the package has a usage limit of 25GB.

Therefore go via Quidco as the package is Unlimited. It states it in the confirmation pages.

23rd Aug Activation date for me.

52/10 package. It doesn't state 10 as the upload speed but it does at ISP Review and on the conformation pages at the end whilst placing the order

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.ph...finity-1-service-broadband-speeds-52mbps.html

The eagle eyed among you will no doubt note that the new service is based off Openreach’s (BT) new and slightly more expensive 55Mbps (10Mbps upload)

Use this to submit a Price Match once the order you've placed has successfully tracked

http://www.quidco.com/highest-cashback-guarantee/

Mine hasn't tracked yet but I will get onto it tomorrow.

@spluff Remind me to cancel that HD Package before the 4th month lol

Edit - Checked Quidco and it's tracked so have submitted a price match via the link above.

Edit Again - 2 Days later Quidco have accepted the Price Match.

Well FTTC has finally been rolled out and I've ordered 40/10 which I've managed to get for £11pm.

However, I'm shocked at the price of line rental! £185    WTF!!! I paid £143 12 months ago! What a complete con!

My contract is up next month so hopefully retention will give me the same deal that I've calculated that new users currently get, £28 a month for 40/10 including line rental.

Is it possible to retro grade back to ADSL from fibre with Plusnet? Thinking about it as I just don't use this connection anywhere near to its potential.

* Just got off the phone and was told not possible and anyway I'd only get 4/1 on ADSL, which I odd as I was getting 16/2 (not 100% on the upload but it was highish) with Bethere.
