Also for people talking about DNS why are you not using Cisco umbrella DNS? Use that instead
Somehow had no idea that OpenDNS was bought by Cisco and renamed to Cisco Umbrella 10 years ago

I remember OpenDNS being the first non-ISP DNS I ever used all those years ago, then I started using Google DNS, then the last 5 years or so I'm strictly Cloudflare. :)

Yes they were acquired back in 2015. :)

What the hell has happened with the plusnet portal, it is absolute garbage,

all i want to do is send them a ticket,

the log a ticket via their portal is no where to be seen

I want to have a go at them as they just send me an email stating that i no longer have a static IP, when i re-signed up to the contract and they promised id retain my static IP.

in the end i phoned them, they say yes i have my static IP still.

I always head to the plusnet community forums, usually get a sensible response in a reasonable time

Last time I used the forums, I got banned for speaking my mind. Over zealous New mod, and for that 1 reason I will never use them again. apart from that, yeah the forums were more coherent.

Its been over 35 days now since my circuit was actvated, i spoke to plusnet this morning asking where my £75 reward card was, they said its been escalated and i should receive an email within 5 days,

if i still don’t receive it ill put in a complaint. Quick enough to take money off you but not quick enough to reward you

A number of people in the same position as you post on the PN forums and a member of staff/moderator escalates the issue. I had to chase up my reward card too.

I'm considering switching from Aquiss 1Gb to Plusnet 1Gb. It's £15/m cheaper and comes with a £110 reward card, which seems like a complete no brainer to me. Any obvious reasons why I shouldn't switch?

I'd prefer to use my own router. A quick Google tells me that is possible with Plusnet?
