np. Same happened to me. I had 2 pokemon in gyms, when the counter hit 0 they had both been taken back. I walked to one, quickly took it and placed a low level pokemon on it and claimed the bonus. of course 10 mins later it was taken back, but I got my bonus :) and will probably repeat this tomorrow.

In effect, if you are fast, anyone can take a gym and get the bonus once every 21 hours. I guess the skill is having multiple pokemons at gyms when you claim the bonus and get more coins. I reckon this is why gyms are spaced out as well, as unless you have decent pokemons, by the time you walk to gym 2 you have lost gym 1 !

Go into shop after you have claimed it and you can get the reward. It is the shield in the top right corner.


That Pokevision website seems to be working well now. I wish I could filter for certain Pokemon though. I seem to have most of what was on the map and I looked across all of London!

Took the gym and nabbed the reward, I'm guessing you're only allowed to place 1 Pokemon per gym?

Exactly! You can get a maximum of 10 iirc so 5000 Stardust and 100 coins if you are really good/lucky! I've managed to hold 2 and collect a bonus of 20 coins and 1000 stardust. Depends on your colour as well, I guess. I see very many red & blue players/gyms but not so many yellow. Of course I picked yellow and now regret it, but not enough to start again!

Just caught a Mankey in my bedroom, a new one for my Pokedex. Its the only pokemon I've caught today though.

Tomorrow I'm going to Glasgow since its my day off. I want to see what the pokemon spawns are like in a city.

Not as far as I can tell. The (coloured) circle is just for bonus XP Nice, Great. Excellent depending on the size of the circle.

Sometimes you catch a super powerful pokemon in 1 throw with a basic ball, other times you can use a raspberry and a better ball and fail on a much weaker pokemon. Just the way it is!

My initial thoughts were if you catch it while the circle is small (whether you hit inside the coloured circle or not) would help. But, that makes no sense as making the circle smaller or bigger is just a matter of when you throw it (not skill based really).

The circle goes from green to red, green being easiest if thats what you mean.

if you want to catch something important that looks like it will be hard to can use raspberries and at a certain lvl you get improved poke balls.

Well, you could use the circle getting smaller (as it does ) for starters.....then on the harder ones make it go in and out faster.....or, god forbid, on the harder ones the circle is smaller to begin with etc etc

P.s: no raspberrys....

Nice idea (in Ingress the circle animation speeds varied depending on the level missile you used or something like that), but there just isn't enough skill involved in throwing the ball part imo (limitation of touch screens). The white circle does indeed vary in size, now you mention it, but that also seems to be random and not really linked to the pokemon CP you are trying to catch.

I can't recall what level you get raspberrys at, it might be level 10. In my experience they don't seem to help in catching pokemons, but they are supposed to increase your chance of catching the pokemon on the next throw (assuming you hit the circle!!)

I thought so to, but like you, not certain!!! It's amazing how much of this game is seemingly random, but it still seems to be keeping grown, intelligent people hooked :D

The white circle varies in size depending on how "far" the pokemon is.

I haven't really noticed nice/great/excellent improving the catch rate that much honestly myself, as well as curveballs. Just extra XP.
 
Good 90 mins session in town after work today. Lures everywhere, added incense on top, battled a friendly gym and raised prestige enough to add my Pidgeot in. Ashamed to say I ditched my salsa class to do that, but I wasn't really in the mood anyway + too hot.

Got some interesting pokemons from my 5km eggs - eggxocute and Bulbosaur. A 600-700CP Pidgeot appeared, highest CP Pokemon I have come across in teh wild, but it ran away after my first throw. :(

Got a meeting in town tomorrow. I reckon the walk will allow me to get up to level 14. I need a lucky egg; got 10+ pokemons waiting to be evolved.

Power bank arrived, ready for picnic on Saturday in SOuthampton.

Wish there was a block on taking a gym after it was lost. I defeated a gym only to find they had thrown another Pokemon in there before I could. This happened 3 times in a row. Eventually I got in to get the coins out.
