Pokemon GO! (2016)

That was a reddit rumour that was debunked, they still aren't using regional servers 100% according to Niantic. There are some regional servers but I think there is still one server that the game ultimately relies on that will has global traffic routed through it

For example, the login server is still global only

Back from Glasgow. Not a bad little trip. There were so many lures set up at pokestops, though a lot of them seemed fairly light on spawns even then. As well as numerous ones I already had I did get several new additions to my pokedex. Including Koffing, golden, syther, the spearow and jigglypuff I mentioned earlier.... and...

Wartortle! Spawned just outside Glasgow central train station. Was a total beast to catch. It broke out of the ball about 10 or 12 times before I finally caught. I put down about 4 Razz Berries to keep it from running away.

I also defeated the only pokemon that was currently in the gym near my house and set up my Tengala at it.

I saw Dratini, psyduck and poliwhirls on the nearby list today, but couldn't find them :(

Its amazing to really see how many people are actually playing this. In Glasgow, just in one area of the city centre, I did a 360 turn and counted all the pokestops that had lures. I swear there was 18 lures active at the same time. And that's only in the part of the city that was within my mini maps range. When that Wartortle appeared I could see several other people trying to catch it at the same time. I cant think of another game that's got so many people going out of their houses to play it.

After level 20 it's such a grind lol....

I'm hopeful for a patch that gives more fairness to the spread of pokemon as I'm sick of the same 4-5 ones. Bare in mind I travel at LEAST 200 miles a day and it's always the same.

The pictures on Reddit of Central Park are case in point of how unfair it is at the moment.

Question about gyms.

I held a gym last night around 8pm, and collected the 10 coins. I lost it by morning, and obviously my timer still had several hours left. At 3pm, I took over another gym. But it wouldn't allow me to collect another 10 coins.

Is that deffo the case? Therefore, within a 21h period, if I have a timer ticking down, there is really no point getting another gym? (Unless my pokemon CP is so high that it will not get kicked out after the first's gym 21h expires)

Edit: If my assumption is correct, does it therefore make sense to quickly beat/take over/insert pokemon in a number of gyms first, then cash out on x number of gyms, after which the timer starts?

No idea. I assume you need to have a pokemon in a gym for a solid 20 hours at a time for the coins to get earned. I've never had one stay in a gym long enough to collect though, so I could be wrong.

Yes on all counts.

Nope, you do not need to hold it for 21 hours, you just have to have it held at the point you claim the bonus.
