Pokemon GO! (2016)

From the sounds of things this wasnt a good move as mostly people have lost rarer ones for poor ones

So I've got 606 magikarp candy now...

Time to evolve one, I'm level 21 and have a cp150 magikarp, guess I should just do this one and keep collecting and hope I get enough for 2. Still dont really understand all these calculations to work stuff out but it gets 94% 95% 100% on an IV calculator if I've done it right, is this good?

Pokevision is a bit naff, I did some testing this morning, and it will only populate if someone playing as actually seen the pokemon pop up in their game (as in be close enough for them to try and catch).

Loads in my nearby list not showing in pokevision.
Then I get close enough to make a gastly appear in my game, and suddenly that same gastly appears in pokevision.

So it's only really good in high player traffic areas, it won't tell you about some remote spawn.

I wish Pokevision also showed you where pokestops and gyms were located.

You guys need to get on reddit /pokemongodev and github. I'm running my own server which sends me pushbullet notifications when something I'm after appears

I just managed to get from level 21 to 22 with a lucky egg. That is super hard to do with 1 egg. Nearly 75k xp in one go.

Just back from another pokemon huting adventure in Glasgow. Travel time included, I've been out of the house 6 and a half hours!

Started off incredibly unlucky. Got off the train and saw on Pokevision there was both a squirtle and a haunter nearby, in opposite directions. I didn't have haunter in my pokedex, so I went for that. I got to the spot with several minutes to spare, but almost immediately a heavy rain shower started. The amount of rain falling on my screen made it impossible to play properly. I was trying to throw and the ball was getting stuck in mid throw. Wasted about half a dozen great balls before the time ran out and it vanished. And by then it was too late to go get the squirtle instead. So bad start. Thankfully after that the rain stopped and stayed off.

I went down to the clyde and walked along the footpath there, as a lot of water pokemon spawn in that area. I went from previously only having caught 2 magikarp to now having 42 magikarp candy. Still a way to go, but its a start. I also got psyducks for the first time, now have 23 candies for them. And several staryu's, poliwags and goldeens. I even got a Poliwhirl! :D At one point the 10K egg I had finally hatched. And I got.... a Jynx. A 599 Jynx... *sigh* Of all the things from 10K eggs I don't have yet, I get something I already do have. I am so unlucky with eggs, I swear to god!

On the way to get some lunch I spotted a dratini spot nearby. Only the second time I've seen one. Alas like last time, it got away. I swear I used like 10 great balls, putting down a berry after every attempt, but it eventually ran. I had lunch, a drink at Starbucks, got myself some more krispy Kreme's, a pulled pork burrito to bring home for dinner and called it a day. Didn't really catch anything else of consequence on the way home.

Well, there goes the 3 steps, I had an eevee pop up on the way home from the station so had to depend on the nearby tracker, and Pokevision was not working. But completely removing it... Well that's going to be a pain finding nearby pokemon.

Great. So rather than fixing the issue, they removed it completely? And they want people to not use sites like PokeVision? Are we supposed to just wander around aimlessly and hope for the best?

That's what baffles me, I only relied on Pokevision because of the 3 step bug, but removing it will just make people use it more .

Just downloaded the new version, they seem to have also fixed the Pokedex which is nice. Can't think why they got rid of the footsteps, maybe they're re-add it in the future when its fixed.

Really wanted to get to lvl 20 tonight, so went for a run at 9pm! Hatched 2 eggs, caught a few pokemons, including a Weezing (new to me) in the most random place (which seems a spawn point for unusual pokemons in fact), and my highest CP eevee (530ish).

Was tempted to evolve 40 pokemons with the lucky egg I got, but think I'll hold out for a few more. Going for a long walk tomorrow with a couple of friends in SOuthampton, which should be good. Sam Clark's gaming cafe/community have organised a mass pokewalk in the city, so we will probably tag along.

If time allows, I will drive to Calshot too; nothing but great pokemons there I keep reading. No one has come back disappointed from there.

Getting the hang of gyms battles better now. A lot of my highest pokemons have had moves strengthened in the penultimate update.

Some decent spawns close to me in west London:

* Magmar now spawns every hour or two just behind my flat (seems to have replaced Pinsir)
* Plenty of Machop in the park opposite (seems to have replaced Geodude)
* Charmander spawns regularly on Acton Common, as does Pinsir
* Growlithe spawns on Turnham Green
* Holland Park is a haven for Bulbasaur

And, it was probably a one-off, but Mr. Mime appeared outside Westfield yesterday afternoon. I was a bit too far away to collect him though. :(

I just got the update through, it loads so much quicker and UI looks a bajillion times better.

Im hoping the game is going to be more stable, ive lost 1 10KM egg, and 3 5KM eggs in the last week where it just crashes and i lose the pokemon etc etc

Im heading out in a hour or so to begin my Sunday, so ill use it while im out see how it is.

Spent 6 hours last night in Swindon and managed to hit level 23. Evolved the following

- Nidoking
- Cloyster
- Seadra

Caught:
- 1500+ Slowbro
- 1000+ Jynx
- Grimmer
- Machop

and hatched a 1150 Scyther - not a bad run and that's +60k XP in a single day without using a lucky egg!

Logged in this morning, seen a few changes but will have to take a walk to see if its going to be of any benefit. Text looks bolder, easier to read.
