Pokemon GO! (2016)

It was pretty buggy. So we can't shut the screen down now or at least dim it anymore.

So that's their philosophy for dealing with a buggy aspect of the game? Don't fix it. Just rip it out. Goodbye power saving. Goodbye pokemon tracking.

Also, whats happened to PokeVision? Have they actually killed it? Seems to have been down for ages and nothing on their twitter feed about fixing it.

According to their Twitter Pokevision have been told to stop. This game will begin to get boring quickly. We can't all sit on our phone all the time just for the off chance of a certain Pokemon appearing.

Spectacular! I had been planning on heading to a nearby town today that has a harbour where a lot of good pokemon spawn. I mean I could still go of course. But PokeVision helped me identify where in the area the pokemon were. Now I'll have to wander around in circles for much longer to get the same or lesser results.

Im actually really annoyed about the power saving mode, i mean im out the house 14-15 hours a day im not carrying a 50 million MAH power bank, i legit do not have enough pockets to warrant that!!

Well guess for now thats me out for a daily basis....i just collect the pokestops whilst commuting and stuff and just forget leaving it running.

So no pokevision and no way to track pokemon ingame. Thanks Niantic !

This game looks like it's going to start losing players even faster now. The developers seem incapable of communicating anything or feeding back to their community and their man philosophy seems to be "if it don't work rip it out".

I wouldn't be surprised if they added some kind of pokeradar into the game, for a fee ofcourse.

The only way to reliably get anything is to go and sit in the pub between 3 pokestops and put lures down whilst having a drink, when I would rather be walking about.

I did hold out a little hope that we might get some improvements to the battle system, but at this rate they'll probably remove battles all together.

Its insane how shortsighted Niantic are being about this. How can they not see that PokeVision was keeping their game alive while their own system was broken? Do they expect the majority of players will just accept that BOTH ways of tracking pokemon have been ripped away at the same time? Some will of course, but a lot will quickly get sick of it and move on.

I admit I used Pokevision to help track a couple of rarer pokemons on Thursday/Friday, but I don't mind it being there. I was always hesitant about using it...was it cheating or merely making up for the buggy 3-steps. Kinda levels the playing field for now anyway.

Its as much cheating as strapping your phone to a model train and having it running round a track to "walk" the distance to hatch your eggs. Yet the creators seemed to think that one was just funny. Hypocrites.

Even if using it was cheating, it was our only option. I wouldn't have bothered with it if the steps had been working, as I'm sure most people would agree. We were using it as a substitute till the game was working as intended. Now we don't even have the substitute to lean on anymore.

Its a shame to see the 3 step footprints are not fixed but i am pleased pokevision is gone for now. Using that website is nothing but cheating, in the pokemon games did you have a map to tell you exactly where each pokemon was, i remember just having to wander round for hours on end?

Would people not rather have the buggy powersave mode and 3 step feature removed anyway if its going to stop the game crashing. They can then release a new update once they are fixed, surely that is the better option to have a temporary fix for now instead of using a broken game until they find a stable fix?

Also just noticed in the Pokemon Go settings on my iPhone it now has a background app refresh setting enabled, i'm sure that wasnt there before. I wonder if the game now runs when minimised so you dont have to have the app open all the time!

Weird. I have version 3.1 and my battery saver is still in the options and seems to be working fine. (Android Phone)

PokeVision going down has killed a lot of the interest for me too.

I spent pretty much the entire day yesterday, out and about looking for Pokemon that I didn't have. I ran out of the flat twice (once at 1:30am!) because PokeVision showed a Magmar had spawned nearby.

On Friday, a big group of people from my office and surrounding offices flocked to entrance of our business park because PokeVision showed a Snorlax appeared.

Without it, I'm not quite as keen on the aimless wandering around. I've got a couple of places to hit up today, based on what I saw on PokeVision before it went down but, after today, the game will be a background thing for me - I'll turn it on if I happen to be somewhere rather than it specifically getting me out of the house to places I'd never normally go.

One minute everyone says poke vision is cheating now it's shut down everyone's crying.. Can't win, battery saver mode is in my update on Android also that's still there which is good text improvements are good. I don't mind about poke vision etc so long as the footsteps work personally there does need to be something in place to give us a clue.
