Love the patch...why fix something that's broken when you can just delete it?
Definitely harder to catch the same Pokemon now and also definitely no points for special catches (very annoying)

Not only not fix it, but destroy the work of someone who tried to fix it for you.
I've just got a Pokemon 10mins ago and got the credit for a nice throw![]()
Pokevision was not a creation to help players because the tracker was broken, be honest. It was a tool to help people find what they needed with minimum effort involved.
Hmmm. I will double check next time I manage to get one. Just to be clear, I still see the words (nice, great, excellent) appear when throwing the ball, but no XP bonus on the summary screen. In effect every single pokemon is now 100XP per catch, for me. Haven't seen a curveball bonus either, but I don't get many of those anyway.

I agree that the in game tracker should be fixed not removed 110% but using your example of Snorlax spawning in X place at X time it does defeat the purpose as you are going to a spot to collect and move on. Perhaps I'm in the minority and that's fine but IMO the point of the game is to get and explore and see what you find, not descend on X spot as you know what will be there in advance. That to me is people just out there to collect and complete and move on, not get in the spirit of the game. The immense "OMFG" feeling I had on seeing a Mr Mime randomly when out wondering will not be there if I go to a location knowing what I'm getting.
Just my opinion and I accept I'm in the minority though.
Really wanted to get to lvl 20 tonight, so went for a run at 9pm! Hatched 2 eggs, caught a few pokemons, including a Weezing (new to me) in the most random place (which seems a spawn point for unusual pokemons in fact), and my highest CP eevee (530ish).
Was tempted to evolve 40 pokemons with the lucky egg I got, but think I'll hold out for a few more. Going for a long walk tomorrow with a couple of friends in SOuthampton, which should be good. Sam Clark's gaming cafe/community have organised a mass pokewalk in the city, so we will probably tag along.
If time allows, I will drive to Calshot too; nothing but great pokemons there I keep reading. No one has come back disappointed from there.
Getting the hang of gyms battles better now. A lot of my highest pokemons have had moves strengthened in the penultimate update.

I respect your opinion and I can totally see where your coming from. Stumbling on a rare pokemon while out walking is definitely a good feeling and having the site pinpoint the location for you can definitely rob you of that feeling of satisfaction. But for a lot of us in rural or quiet areas with limited spawns, it was a very beneficial crutch to lean on while the ingame tracker was broken.
See, I kinda see it the opposite way. If I randomly happen upon a rare Pokemon while out walking, nice, but it doesn't feel like I achieved anything. It's no better than having them pop out of an egg. If I see a Pokemon on a tracker and I get to it before the spawn timer ends, then it does feel like an achievement.I agree that the in game tracker should be fixed not removed 110% but using your example of Snorlax spawning in X place at X time it does defeat the purpose as you are going to a spot to collect and move on. I'm probably just gonna risk a ban and use the pokemon map thing on github and hope they don't ban by IP address if they ever ban for that. If they do ban for it then it doesn't really matter, since the game is only fun when you can actually hunt for pokemon

Did the exact same thing myself earlier. Holland Park seems to be a haven for them, and there were lures galore. In the hour or so I was there, I got 5 Bulbasaurs (amongst dozens of other things). Not quite enough to evolve (I had yet to see any before today), but not far off it. I'll be back there next weekend.Went to Holland Park for a couple of hours but from the sound of other players Bulbasaur was not spawning as often as it usually does. Managed to get enough for an Ivysaur though before I left.
