Discount the spending money one all that does is free up a little time.
You can tell who's cheating quite easily, but each to their own.

The api got dumped so reverse engineering it all became easier, the bots just wander around catching/spinning pokestops/releasing/hatching/evolving so far. Although I did see a weirdly named account sitting on top of a gym with a high cp and level so I do hope that wasn't done by a bot, and was just someone using their bot account to play the normal game.
You think botting is bad? It's the spoofers that take down gyms from miles/countries/continents away that annoy me.

Yeah, got a friend who uses a GPS hack so he can basically sit wherever he wants, or set it so it walks around the block constantly....
Kinda sad but if they have fun then hey ho....just annoying id you want to battle or anything and they have high cp characters

And sounds like you've got it post update meaning cathing eberything is hardr than it used to be.
Is always disappointing to hear about bottling, cheating, wall hacking, aim botting. But for as long as there is competition, it will happen.

I am using a bot and I was just joking about not knowing what a bot is.
Even with a bot though it will take a long time to reach level 40.
Have Niantic banned anyone for botting on Ingress, or is it not as rife? With trading presumably on the cards, you can setup a fake account to bot your way up and get some good pokémon then just trade them to your "real" account?

The escape thing is BS. I lost a Venamoth yesterday and 12 balls trying to get that little ****. Then today I lost a Jynx because of the same. I then had to go pokestop hopping to get back the damn balls.
Whats the point, it just ruins the game for everyone else?

They made out that bots have been banned, but ingress was, how to put it, 2013 geeky? Not exactly the crowd that would attract mass cheaters. Pokemon Go however... with it's fantastic launch and absolutely unbiased approach to spawns and hotspots...
I happily spoof on my main account since my town sucks, and there is no chance I'm hanging around the wonderful area of my work after hours when dredges of society are more than happy to try and make off with colleagues motorcycles.
If someone is going out of their way to cheat the game what are the chances they are just doing it to look at their own collection. The people that use these bots like to overpower a gym and hold them with all their other cheating mates.
