They just wear a sparkly dress and a sash that says "William Hill" on it or some other sponsor. I'v seen women wearing less whilst out on Saturday night...
 
I work with a girl who did a few promo events a few years ago - grid girl, Autosport show, that sort of thing.
She is very confident and flirty, and obviously attractive, and said she used to really enjoy it.

I think she said she used to get paid the region of £2-300 a day depending on the gig.

I think fat, balding older men are getting a bad press here. Young, good looking men also get boners when they look at young, good looking women. ;)

Also, when you reverse the roles and point out the obvious fact that women love to sexually exploit young, good looking men... it doesn't seem to generate the same level of outrage does it? In actual fact, it is generally viewed as empowering for women to sexually exploit men.

Personally, I'd say good riddance, I remember promo girls being at a Gumball Ralley thing in London, and they are always at gaming expos, always super cringey with all the slack-jawed hornballs crowding around them.

Well, bar owners are not silly, few guys are going to oh so casually glance down the front of a guy's shirt while he's reaching under the bar for a mixer, or nudge their friends if the same guy ascends a small ladder to reach for a bottle on the top shelf.
 
I can see both arguments but just don't have any problem with it myself.

When you go to the Darts or Boxing you are going to see a Show, it's an entertainment event. For events people get dressed up to project an image of excitement and importance. Look at stage shows or Strictly come dancing it's all about glamour and creating a spectacle.

Would Strictly be as entertaining if all the dancers wore jeans and a tshirt and didn't do their hair?

Is it also wrong that people at home watching Strictly fancy the dancers (both male and female) when they are all dressed up?

People have been dressing up since the dawn of time. The future is going to be very boring if we repress every human instinct.

When you think about it, it is pretty weird. They don't even hold up a sign like grid girls or even the ring girls with the next round. Imagine in Football instead of little kids as mascots they had women in tight dress leading the teams out.

How can you compare football and darts though? Darts is a game that has always been played in drinking establishments at night. Darts is promoted in the style of the working mans clubs that it originated.

Clubs have a history of compares, glamour and stage acts. Football has always been a more casual afternoon game played at a park.
