Austerity at the end of the day is a useful tool but it shouldn't be the only tool in your arsenal. To make money you have to actually use money.
Agreed, and the tories have said they will increase spending in areas whilst trying to get borrowing under control, just not run up the credit card on magic money to buy votes and leave someone else to clean up the mess like labour did last time which is why we have this problem in the first place.

How's having no armed forces working out for Iceland? Or Andorra? Or Panama? Or the numerous other countries that don't have armed forces? Are they all awash with ISIS combatants?

No Iceland is in NATO, Panama has the canal which is of huge geopolitical importance so is basically under the protection of America, and Andorra has a population of 85,000 and every family has to maintain a firearm, so basically they an armed militia.

Yeah, they aren't ex-empires trying to cling on to their glory days by interfering where they aren't wanted or needed.

So we just stand by idle while the likes of Sadam, Bin Laden/Taliban, Gaddafi kill hundreds of thousands of people, apathy towards these people is not the answer either. Intervention or no intervention, they would eventually land on our shores, there intentions are quite clearly laid out.

Starting on the ones being reported as such might be a good start :p
So now it's the police you're taking a pop at? With these people just getting in a van armed with bread knives it's going to take a very different way of weeding them out than looking for the tell tail signs of trained terrorists building bombs and planning over years

Amber Rudd can't deal with an independent candidate speaking about her involvement in selling weapons to Saudi Arabia so she gets his speech shut down at the hustings in her constituency of Hastings and Rye. Watch how she writes a note and hands it to the guy on the left.

Apparently a lot of the audience putting questions on AR were approached and asked to put their placards down too

You took part in a discussion earlier today in this thread about this, to keep trotting out the "run up the credit card" line is evidence that you're arguing in bad faith in purpose.

Because it's wrong for the same reasons given a few pages back. "Labour borrowed money and bought votes which is why the deficit was so high by 2010" is Express-reader levels of knowledge.

What's the equivalent of quantitative easing in a household budget?

The independent report I was pointed to by a labour supporter conclusively showed the a huge amount of debt was run up by the last labour government between 2008 and 2010 with a trajectory that has taken years to gradually stabilize. Perhaps try reading all the posts, not just the sound bites you like the look of? Perhaps you should look a little closer to home to see who is arguing in bad faith no?

And you've been asked to consider what might have happened in 2008 that caused that debt.
