I think hes done for, poor spreadsheet Phil
Still they may put Boris in charge of the books, what could go wrong?

Boris in charge of the nation's economy? My best case scenario is that he puts everything on a single Excel spreadsheet and then loses it on a USB stick in a cab. Every other scenario is actually worse.

I'm a bit perplexed how the Tories managed to call the election then come off seeming like they were least prepared for it of any of the main parties.

I think the breaking election rules thing may be plausible. Alternatively they've realised that there is no coherent plan with any chance of success for Brexit and have decided to have a crack at letting Labour screw it up instead of them.

It'll be interesting to see if there is something bigger at play especially with the whole thing with Qatar. I don't think the timing is just coincidence. As much as I think May called the election intentionally due to being able to blind side the opposition with the timing things since seem to indicate her hand has been forced somewhat.

For both of the above, I'm now actually considering it. From their point of view they're vastly ahead in the polls and the leader of the opposition is someone that all the media barons don't want, doesn't have the full support of their own party and ought to be easy to portray as "unelectable" or "soft on terrorism". This is key - it must have looked like an easy win at the time. Probably even gain seats. Once you realise that, the barrier to actually call a general election isn't actually that high. So if it avoids an expenses style scandal or something else, why not?

The don't-get-any-brexit-on-us scenario is also plausible, but requires the prognosis for the negotiations to be very bad indeed. Which I really hope isn't the case.

This should be worth a couple of errrr...votes.

On the other hand, this lends considerable strength to the idea that they are actively trying to lose. That was bad.

Anyone up for some fake news or maybe truths. Someone has emailed DA and pretended to be Seumas Milne it appears. Probably fake but still Breaking News Post 768.

Interesting, but she didn't actually say the illness was made up. In fact, she admits to suffering from ill health recently (although alludes to that ill health being diabetes).

I'm not sure her responses in that conversation are as damning and some might want them to be.

Maybe not as damning as some might want to lead but still suggests she is quite happy lying aslong as the chance of being found out is low. (Though that goes for most people to some extent).

Ah great so you decide who does or does not get to share their political views?

A third rate rapper isn't going to sway me to vote for spineless terrorist apologist dreamers like Corbyn and Abbott with illogical arguments about coal mines being closed 30+ years ago and wouldn't it be good to go back to the 1970s. They can promise you the moon on a stick, but like Liam Byrne's note said, I'm afraid to tell you there's no money left.

If May gets in with a smaller majority/minority then will she face a coup attempt? We could end up with Boris or Amber Rudd in charge in a week or two...

God no. Anybody with any sense will let her negotiate the toxic brexit as they will be tarnished forever. The. There would be a coup with two years or so to prep for the next election

Just looked at the local poll results here at OcUK and can't believe so many people would vote for Labour. That's depressing.

Empty posts like your own are depressing, care to explain why so many people here voting for labour depresses you? Or is it a case of post and run because you can't engage in debate.

There is no debate possible with a deluded socialist. About my empty post, I just happened to look at the results and was shocked, that's all.
