Polygamy.

Im trying to say the justification of polygamy as some sort of benefit to mankind by purifying the gene pool is laughable.

The reason were are who we are is we have morals, laws, conscience.
 
Why do we always have to have some kind of logical utilitarian benefit for this kind of stuff.

Sod the bloody gene pool. Why cant we just admit it would be fantastic for two or three hot birds to share a totally awesome bloke legally. :p

Ultimately that is your own opinon on the matter, others may have a slightly different perspective. :p There is no law of nature set in stone that love is only between 2 people and you cannot love anyone else or that you shouldnt.
 
Anyone here happy to share their GF or Wife with another man? Polygamy is more than one wife or husband isn't it rather than just more wives for the men.

I have no problem with it. As long as everyone in the relationship is happy with the arrangement then I can't see a problem. It's a very strange idea to me, definitely not something I would be interested in, but that's no reason to stop other people doing it if they want.
 
it was initially made illegal to protect women from being "exploited" by men... by illegal we mean criminal/spend time in jail...

in the 21st century, who are we to say how individuals behave? if women decide and consent to sharing, why should we make laws against? if a woman decides to have 2 husbands why should that be made illegal? as long as everyone is aware of what is happening and is of sound mind...

just because it isnt something you would do doesnt mean there should be a law against it... take religion out of it altogether.... if a group of people decide to want to live together why should we stop them? remember that by officially being married, it gives the other partners equal rights to property etc... the same cannot be said for women who become mistresses, they end up with sweet nothing if the man dies suddenly....

I dont see what the problem is if the situation warrants. :) Animals like Young lions are known to share a female lioness, ocuntless of order animals also do this.

Polygamy is predominantly a Man having more than spouse idea IMO but i dont see the problem if it is the other way round. Like someone said if gay marriage is allowed, why not polygamy.
