Polygamy.

I dont see what the problem is if the situation warrants. :) Animals like Young lions are known to share a female lioness, ocuntless of order animals also do this.

Polygamy is predominantly a Man having more than spouse idea IMO but i dont see the problem if it is the other way round. Like someone said if gay marriage is allowed, why not polygamy.

The problem is we arnt animals and the reason we have brains is to Seperate us from the animals :)

BTW Swans, Some Lizards, Black Cockatoos and Dugongs all only have 1 life partner :)

Male lions are also known to kill the offspring of a female lioness so that she will then mate with them. Shall we make this legal too?

I actually know a few people in polygamous relationships and they're all very happy. It's certainly not for me though.

Lol. Nah i used that to illustrate a point.

See if they are happy and not breaking any law why make it illegal?

I didn't say it should be illegal. In their cases they all have a primary partner who they are married to and a secondary partner who they are happy to not be married to. They don't feel the need to marry them.

I didnt say you do. I was refering to the Uk law in general. No man or woman can marry more than one partner right? Im saying the law should be changed to recognise the other Wives or Husbands...Even if no marriage is allowed, recognition of some sort should be allowed just like the one for gay marriages.

You know, i like that arrangement. No fuss, no muss and no strings attached. :)

We all (maybe most of us) want to have more than one woman to have relationship with and what not.

There is less divorce rates in countries who practise them.

One big and happy family.

Islam supports it

No, I think the majority of people dont want to be with more than one woman. At any rate how sexist is that to allow a man to have more than one wife and not a wife more than one husband..

There is less divorce rate in countries that practice it because those countries are generally less liberal, hence less divorce rate, and its considered a very very bad thing to do.

One big happy family!??? Is that a joke!? Thats simply NOT the case.

The UK isnt a Islam society.;)

You do realise i advocate for women to do polygamy too?

I dont think you do, you clearly have shown that.

You know this is a classic move - Man condemms what it doesnt understand or fear.

No. I think it hurts far more people than it helps. Most people wouldn't be interested in polygamy they have moved beyond that, in my opinion I think it would be a step backward for society. The sort of people who are willing to be in a polygamist relationship, I don't imagine care much about the legalities of it. Indeed if they really are that much of a 'happy family' I'm not sure they would need anything legal put in place. I think it is morally wrong and therefore it doesn't really come into it whether it is a custom that is foriegn to me or different to what I am used to.

Although I am completely against it how would it work? For example if person A was already married to person B, then person B decides to marry person C:

Would all parties have to agree before it went ahead legally?
If person A does not want a polygamist relationship then will they have to divorce person B?
Worse yet end up staying married to person B despite the fact that they find that kind of relationship abhorrent becuase they love them or do not beleive in divorce?

You can think what you want, im not going to argue with it or attempt to force you to change your views, they are yours after all.

And crap idea's.

remember, imo.
But if say 3 people all want to marry each other, what difference will it make to you? Why not allow it?
