Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Beautiful motor, you completely just shattered all dreams I had of getting a Cayman S... I need this in my life!

Thank you. I've wanted one for a very long time and it's been on my bucket list of things to do. Next up for me will be a 911 GTS / GT3

I was in the OPC yesterday getting my new tire fitted, some how it worked out FoC. I can't moan at that. :D

However, I couldn't but notice this and drool!

I couldn't help myself but inquire..... :D

This really isn't helping things, the levels of GT3 want are high at the mo. I seems they are falling in price but this higher than list.

Very true but I'm not sure it will add much to the experience on the road. One of those things though, if you want to play go play, life too short ;)

The noise will & you already know the LSD will :D

It's the noise and LSD I'm really lacking... can fix that for 495 Euro for the noise and $2790 for the LSD (PDK LSDs are oddly twice the price of manual LSDs).

A cat-back I could easily fit myself... add the manifolds too and I'd probably take it to a garage as it can be awkward without a lift. LSD I'll get a specialist to do. The standard exhausts are too quiet.

Racing cats are quite tempting as it's not really all that expensive of a mod and the difference should be noticeable... Cayman R exhaust may or may not be noticeable with a stock header.

Induction mod would be nice... at the moment when the roof is up, the standard induction noise is addictive. Plenum/throttle body not really necessary but stock airbox removal and cone replacement should amplify the induction noise a bit and open up the intake for a small throttle sensitivity improvement which I think I will notice.

The extra power... I'm not sure I'd notice the difference unless I was next to another porsche.

I want to play... I'm just undecided as to exactly how much... the mods I want certainly add up enough to buy a decent 2004 E46 M3 or enough to buy a decent base MX5 and mod it the way I want to.

It did really look to have some set up issues on the front end as it was clear (by the apex's missed and steering angles) to see it oversteering. Reminds me of the Fifth Gear review from years back when Needle was getting understeer everywhere for some off reason. Not what I remember from any Cayman I drove.

Id agree, if anything the 981 has turn in oversteer but the frontend is solid. I know that as its caught me out before and its and its a handful of oppsite lock quick, it also didn't help it was wet. :p I was tought on my PEC trail braking the 981 was the best way to set it up for the corner.

Saw them on Thursday GT3 RS sold and a second GT3 sat in front of them was rather nice as well.

Was next door looking at a Ghibli

I thought the RS was a customer car, which was on loan to the center.

What is it with all the GT3 for sale at the moment, not many seem to have the Buckets and Clubsport Pack. They all seem to be a comfort spec which isn't what I'm interested in. I keep looking for one with PCCB's, CS Pack, Buckets, Axel Lift and Nav and that seems to be a little rare.

Is it your Cayman that was up for sale not long ago?

Any recommendations for brake pad replacements?

Turns out they have quite a lot of wear left when they trip the sensor... lol

OEM pads seem decent (albeit heavy on the dust)... just wondering if anyone has experience with Brembo/EBC and if they're worthwhile?

Thanks
