Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

I think NO AGENCIES, NO TEST PILOTS & NO SCAMMERS! is pointless as any of those won't get to the end of the advert before they call you. I had so many idiots trying to steal my GT3, some well known dealers treating me like an idiot offering 10K less than I got.

Yeah trust me it is very tempting to take it to the specialist garage that offered me 27-28k for it cash to not have the risk of dealing with idiots, thieves and dodgy dealers.

I'd be half tempted to do that myself Gibbo, honestly a few k is rarely worth the hassle. Good luck with the sale, I still remember talking with you when you were thinking of buying it :)

Finally done it! :(

Advert here:
My 911 FOR SALE!

What do you guys think? Missed anything or any suggestions if I should add or remove something?

Beautiful, well specced car and a brilliantly worded advert. I'm sure you'll have no trouble selling her on. I'd snap it up up if I didn't have a very expensive wedding coming up! Shared in the South West.

Put my old one up for sale today. Do you guys think the price is ok?

Why are the photos so poor?

Every photo of the outside of the car is taken in a different contrived setting, it just looks a bit weird. Why not just go out and specifically take some photos for the advert, all in the same location, all of different adverts. It looks far better, it gives buyers a far better impression of the car than 'Here is my car in a random London street, here is my car parked next a mates Maserati' thing you've got going on currently.

You want somebody to part with £66,000 to buy a car from a private seller which is frankly a tough ask in the first place, give yourself the best chance with an advert that answers more questions than it raises.

Have to agree with Fox with regard to your ad Dr House - if you want a template for a better ad look no further than Gibbo's.

Thanks for the feedback, I used a bunch of photos I had on my phone but as you say it does not look good. The dealer will pick it up on Friday and take some proper photos as I'm now out of the uk for the next 5 or 6 weeks.

What will replace the 911?

New Mustang, its both a good and bad idea.

Change a Porsche for a Ford, a bad idea, the build and quality of the 911 amazes me compared to the BMW it makes the BMW feel French. :D

But at the same time for similar money I get a brand new car, more toys, more power, V8 and a warranty with absolutely huge tuning ability (1000BHP).

I initially read that as 'TURNING' ability and spat out my coffee. :D

In terms of drivability and the overall experience, I can't see the Mustang getting anywhere near the Porsche in the long term surely? How could it possibly? And if Porsche makes BMW feel French, then the Mustang is going to feel like a Tonka toy in comparison?!

You'll REALLY be missing that Porsche in a few months methinks...

Does the tuning company match the manufacturer warranty?

Can't comment on all tuning companies. But I can comment on one!

And this particular tuning company said they offered warranty.... When in fact it was a load of skittles. So I'd be careful.

If I tune no warranty of course. ;)
But I won't touch the engine at first, just some slight cosmetic changes. :)

When I do tune, warranty gone and I will, I'd be very unlucky to get an engine issue and if it explodes, I buy a new engine but I will be running a conservative setup of around 750 horses, yes conservative. :)

Mines changed out of its beret into a hard hat of the wrong colour.

£250 off of ebay for the hardtop, i'm going to prep it myself and take it to my local bodyshop who did my front bumper a few months back. I talked to the guy today and like the bumper which only cost me less than £100, if i do the prep its going to set me back only £130. It also gives me a chance to use the car while I take out the soft top and motors for a refurb.

Are you colour matching or going a bit crazy and having it done in another colour i.e. black?
