Though she preferred the manual to the pdk which is a shame, but it's her car
She is obviously a petrolhead. Keep this woman!

I pretty much agree with Housey, just go with what she thinks is right for her.

I was thinking of PASM, due to me having a bad back, I thought it would give a smother ride than just sports suspension. Though the biggest decision she has to make is does she want the car in metallic black or standard black.
True.
But one of the most fun drives I had in a Porsche was a Boxster 2.9DFI manual because oh boy did I drive it like I stole it, but simply because the engine begged to be revved and you need to stir that joyful gearbox a lot to keep it in the power. Yes it was fun, yes the lack of power and lack of grip would also become an issue once the ragging it everywhere wore off but as a courtesy car it was epic fun.

I would also agree with you, but its going to be her car, so I've got her going through the configurator at the moment and we picked up some brochures explaining most things. But hopefully it should be with us by May. Though I wouldnt mind getting her on one of those experience days so she can learn how to drive it properly. She will probably use it to commute to work and keep it in 5th gear.
This is how I would spec it keeping in mind its for a women and not performance driven with a bit of consideration to resale. I just did not put PSE and Sports chromo to keep the price down.

It may be worth holding out for the face lift as they will be moving to a horrible 2.0 Turbo charged engine but the cayman price should come down as they want to place it under a Boxter now.

DO NOT spec power steering plus, it's ****. Also I would go sports suspension 20mm lower over PASM and I would add an LSD.

Turbo is a bit different... but I was not a huge fan of the 996 either... the weight distribution is fun, but compared to a 997 (or 987) - it just couldn't compete
but they are (were?) affordable, and £25k for a 996 turbo was a bit of a bargain back then.
I think you mis-read my comment.
996 turbo is much better than the standard 996... the extras really bring the 996 to life, the standard 996 feels dull and boring... albeit you can still have a giggle with it.
