Porsche Owners Thread - If you own one or just like or hate them! :)

Put a new exhaust on my one... Full system, manifolds, xpipe with 200 cells and sport silencers.. https://youtu.be/vqm-HKobyyk

Sounds sweet. :)

I daren't put any manifolds on mine as they look like they've been on the Titanic lol. Mine burbles nicely but when you put your foot down the entire town can hear you! Not as subtle as yours. :) More freedom to be a hooligan. ;)

Believe me this is far, far less subtle than stock or pse. Over the next few days I'll do a run out with a go pro strapped to the back of the car. Happy with the exhaust though even if right now I'm taking the manifolds off again to do another upgrade on the bolts I am using. This is all so they don't look like yours again been there and paid a big chunk to remove them in the first place.

When you next start that is will blow loads of smoke out the back, bet you! Worst thing you can do with a flat 6 is rev it before turn off, or park it up after running it from cold without getting it up to temp. Causes no problems but tends to see loads of muck fly out the back come start up next time. I learnt to never drive mine out the garage, wash it and drive it back in. I always washed, drove it for a good run the put it back as if not I got smoked to death next time I came to start it. ;)

Sounds about right to me they do love to have a little puff. My old boxster did it religiously, this one less so especially since having the heads rebuilt and changing the AOS. It was well up to temp when I put it away there, I had done about 100 miles in it and cained through £40 of fuel. The one downside of changing the exhaust system is that the noise is intoxicating and as of yet I don't think I've managed much better than about 17mpg :D

Well, I picked up the GT4 today, after a long week full of sleepless nights (kid at Christmas).

I'm truly blown away - and I believe this takes the spot on my list as the best car I've ever driven. I need to put more time into it to be certain, but I put a lot of miles on it in some lovely roads, and I'm floored. What a car.

The prospect of a £20k engine rebuild holds me back. Which is good as stainless steel back boxes it burbles nicely but when you floor it you could wake the dead!

I hate motorbikes... being an ex-biker I know they are baiting me.... lol.

Took it to work today. "Is that your Porsche? It's nice." "Yes it is. Thank you." "But you're an agency worker? How the **** can you afford a Porsche!?" :D

Spoken to a few independent garages and consensus has been "don't touch the manifolds until you need an engine rebuild" lol.

I changed the bolts for the manifold on my turbo as they looked a bit rusty. I had to use a DIY torque multiplier (a steel bar luggage strapped to my ratchet) fortunately non snapped but I've replaced them with stainless bolts so they should be easier to remove when the manifolds need replacing. Why all these bolts aren't just stainless to start with is beyond me. Fwiw I did it on my back on the drive without jacking the car up so access isn't too bad.
