We didn't actually recommend anyone use a cleanup utility Andy, just that they uninstall the old drivers prior to installing the first Mantle capable drivers.

I digged up the 14.1 release notes for clarification.

Did you actually read the tutorial? see above. And as soon as you do that it removes all of your motherboard, USB and system drivers leaving you with no keyboard or mouse.

That's odd, it does not do that on my AMD system. To remove motherboard/chipset/usb drivers you'd have to run this tool, AMD Catalyst Clean Uninstall Utility 1.2.1.0.

Note: The chipset drivers, USB drivers, audio drivers, and AMD software components may be removed by the AMD Clean Uninstall Utility. As a result, USB and audio devices and systems using RAID arrays may become unresponsive after system reboot. Only use the AMD Clean Uninstall Utility if the system can be fully restored to a previous state using a backup image.

Express will only remove what is installed with the GPU package..

Like here it will "Not" remove anything else.

Yup I downloaded the tool as suggested.

How else would I have obtained the tool, Matt?

Any way it's all water under the bridge now because I no longer use AMD.

Hint - it may be a better idea for you to relay my experiences back to AMD instead of arguing the toss?

That way they can make the drivers better and possibly entice me at some point in the future.

I note you've not tried defending or disproving the frame issues in CFX.

Fix Matt, not argue.

All of the time Crossfire did not work I had about twenty people telling me I was doing it wrong and that they had no issues.

Imagine my delight when I found out I was absolutely right to complain, and they were rather silly for missing the complete obvious.

As I've already said, after the nightmares I've had from AMD drivers I will not buy AMD.

And I certainly won't listen to people arguing the toss and telling me I am wrong, because the whole frame debacle was as clear as day.

Know who released that software? Nvidia. They were already making sure it wasn't a problem on SLI.

And that's the problem with AMD. Far too many people putting up with issues and not complaining. You complain? people all jump on you and tell you you're wrong when in reality if AMD actually listened to their complaints they would garner more customers.

That Crossfire controversy was an absolute tragedy for AMD. So yeah, we now have frame pacing but only after they were exposed.

Its a bit much gloating righteousness from 2013 now.

This is the problem with the way you swagger around in here, relentless in your blaming one particular vendor for your endless problems and then go into defensive mode whilst throwing in a few distant victories to bolster your argument when its suggested that perhaps not everything is anybodies fault but yours.

I can't workout if its born out of some sort of insecurity derived arrogance or just plain trolling.

Go back to my car analogy, if you had an issue here or there we might believe you, but your are insisting everything AMD you touch falls apart while Nvidia are always perfect.

No, its impossible to take someone like that seriously.

And like I said to you! You should not have run that Software, this is were the "USER! Error" Comes into play..

That software was not meant to be used when only changing GPU drivers.

You fast to blame AMD because your mouse and Keyboard stopped working but who was really at fault here??

Answer is you!

Yes all very funny. Now defend the fact that for years AMD were selling Crossfire set ups that they knew did not work.

You can't can you fanboy?

That was then, i felt it when i borrowed my friends 7950 to cf with mine. but since xdma i believe the framepacing has been sorted for single/multiple screens in crossfire. But of course you wouldn't know that or you would have mentioned it, which against your argument of amd need to sort their drivers out because of crossfire framepacing issues, now becomes irrelevant.

Unless amd still have framepacing issues? I don't have xdma cf so I can't comment.
But game support for sli or cf can lag a bit behind from the initial game release,
But eventually a next driver update comes along.

Funny, last time I saw an FCAT analysis was on the most recent Nvidia cards. Guess what - it showed frame drops for the latest Nvidia cards in SLi.

Spouting what you USED to know about AMD when you couldnt get yours to work today when the whole frame pacing etc has been fixed a long time ago is futile. If you knew what you were talking about you'd know it was fixed eons ago.

You know what they say. AMD for those that can....Nvidia for those that can't.

No I was the cool kid with chocolate milk ;).

I see you've played orange juice/chocolate milk before!

-Edit-

OT - I'm hoping that whatever AMD bring out, they don't release a terrible cooler with it. It seemed to me it hurt them in the reviews way more than it should have since, at a guess, most people buy cards with better 3rd party coolers anyway. And the fact the cards would throttle due to hitting their thermal wall.

Ok as an attempt to get the thread back on track. (new cards from AMD)

Wasn't there something teased as coming in 2014 from sapphire/AMD ?

or am I remembering wrong ?

Seeing as there is only one day of the year left.
