Anecdotal evidence doesn't equal a general trend.

You might have had a bad experience with AMD drivers, but I don't see why they should 'listen to people like you' when there don't seem to be that many people like you out there, especially as their drivers have got better for a majority.

Of course ideally there wouldn't ever be driver issues, but that will never happen with either AMD or Nvidia.

Then hey, don't listen and I will continue to buy Nvidia cards.

Does that sound fair to you?

Just forget OSX. OK?
Yep we'll just selectively remove some of your 'problems'

As I maintain - if AMD actually listen and sort out the problems I have had?
Because NVIDIA obviously follow up every little user reported problem and do full investigations into user errors?

Do you remember all the threads about micro stutter on Crossfire when it was broken? the amount of people complaining? what did AMD do about that? nothing. Had they got on the case before being exposed as liars and introduced Frame Pacing long before they were forced to then I'd believe in them a bit more than I do.

Because NVIDIA are proactive like that as well are they? They are both businesses, like any other, wrongly or rightly, if they can get away with something that would otherwise cost them money, they will.

So this thread is about their upcoming GPUs. So I'm saying look, I refuse to buy said GPUs until you fix the drivers to the point that they're at the same quality level as Nvidia's. Now I'm being told I'm ruining a thread when really this is a golden opportunity for AMD to put things right and then try and win me back yes?

They don't need to win you back - they don't need to fix drivers that aren't broken - you are in the minority.

Then hey, don't listen and I will continue to buy Nvidia cards.

You're already biased and said you won't buy another AMD Card, so why even come to this thread?

ok to stop this going round in circles covering another 15 pages of bs.
Let's discuss what driver issues you experienced and what driver issues you would like to see corrected or reassured that they won't present an issue.

bullet point all your issues

I already pointed out all of the issues I've had.

Then the fanboys jumped in.. waah waaah, mummy he dared say something bad about AMD ! he's wrong mummy, AMD didn't tell him to run an app that clears out all of the drivers including the keyboard and mouse.....

But even that issue is merely one of many. That one actually wasn't a deal breaker, just incredibly annoying and should have been thought through a little better by AMD who obviously believe every one is using Intel, where of course it would not matter.

I pointed out my issues with my £439 7970 ages ago. Got the same sort of response too. Always the same.... In the end I got rid of it, that's how well AMD addressed my issues.

TBH knowing how ignorant they have been in the past I'm probably wasting my breath here. I suppose now more than ever (if this is what happens should you dare speak of your bad experience) I should just call it a day and stick to Nvidia.

Ho hum.

Both of which you are blaming me, both of which happened.

Put it this way, it never happened when installing an Nvidia driver. If AMD recommend you run their cleanup tool before installing Mantle drivers and it wipes out the entire system that's their fault.

Your arguing with me will not make me buy AMD. The only way that will happen is if they actually listen and stop sticking fingers in ears and arguing.

What do you think you can do here? argue me around and make me buy another AMD GPU? lol, good luck with that.

Amd did not recommended you run there cleanup tool.. Crying out loud.. How hard is it for you to understand? You ran the tool and messed up your system not amd.

Why doesn't that happen on nvidia simple because nvidia do not have a full system that includes cpu, chipset drivers, USB etc

Why do you keep on saying amd recommended you run the cleanup tool? When you no full well they did not.

If the cleanup tool is the one he linked a while back, wasn't there an option to do a custom clean? Meaning he could have just done that and selected what to clean rather than doing the express uninstall.

No the express install is just part of the GPU drivers. That will just remove everything that comes within them drivers.

Amd have a separate tool that will remove everything. He either thinks the express option is the same tool lol or he read on some forum to run the removal tool and messed up his system..

Amd would never say to use that tool when all you doing is coming from one driver to another.

Complete user error by himself and will not admit it.

Edit
And Yeah they is a custom uninstall part of the gpu driver, you can see that in the follow up post I made.

User error is nothing new when it comes to AMD cards, some people want to be spoon-fed so certain other manufacturers might be better for them.

Pathetic that they blame the manufacturer for their own mistakes .

It's so pathetic how some people behave in this sub forum.

I just wish the mods would actually do something about it, they said they would 'Last Warning' but nothing seems to be done about it. They must have given up.

Maybe have an nVidia vs AMD thread where they can argue about their favourite colour all day long and leave the other threads on topic.

It's probably because I've done nothing that actually breaks the rules.

IE - I'm not insulting people or being nasty, I'm just putting forward my thoughts and feelings, as much as the fanboys may hate it.

As for user error? TBH? installing a driver shouldn't be such a faff. AMD should have coded the driver to do what needs to be done in one swoop rather than telling the end user to run tools to remove drivers.

It's something you don't get on Nvidia. I don't want to be an expert in installing drivers I expect them to work. That's what I paid for when I bought a card, and, to me is clearly why AMD cards are cheaper.

I don't care about what people have said back to me. I don't care about the thinly veiled insults, nor that I've been accused of talking 'dribble' (it's actually drivel).

AMD have a rep here. He has done absolutely nothing to appease me so the chance has been lost. Instead of actually opening his ears up and taking my points on board he's decided to just sit here and argue the toss with me over who is right and wrong.

I'll give you a hint here - customer is always right whether you like it or not.

So, it's pretty obvious I won't be a customer.

So that's about it. You can carry on now.

ANDY why do you keep saying the same old crap?

"AMD should have coded the driver to do what needs to be done in one swoop rather than telling the end user to run tools to remove drivers."

Like I have told you and even our very own amd rep.. Amd have never told you to run any tool at all..

Am now starting to think you just repeating the same old for the fun of it.

Amd never so it's a user error.. Maybe this time it will sink into your head?
