Agreed, stuff like this should be addressed. I get the silence on new flagship tech being held back for big E3 launch, but being silent on this just makes me think these are straight up rebrands. Weakens the line up in most peoples eyes.

If the price is good though an 8GB 290X / 390X might still be good, in the face of the GTX 970 3.5GB +0.5GB etc, but still another rebrand... Meh..

Apparently the best place to look for leaks is the XFX website. The Radeon R9 390X, which is in fact slightly faster R9 290X equipped with 8GB memory, can be found on their website under .. R9 290X product page.

The 390X being a 290X can't ever be span positively Boom lol. Not that it matters, because there's no way on hell that's the case. But that's my point, AMD should perhaps reassess the situation, given we're 9 days off, just give official specs, that's it.

Regarding price though, if the 390X 8GB came in at £250 VS a GTX 970 3.5GB + 0.5GB it might have a place.

Still rebranding after nearly two years = Meh

Indeed, all they had to do is swap the stickers though. Technically these 390X's have been around since 2013 :p

Well given that we're 9 days off and 980ti stock is about as plentiful as hens teeth, and also factoring in the backlog of people waiting that's not going to change anytime soon. Waiting the 9 days isn't that big of a deal.

There is no reason to fake a box :p The real question is what is under the hood :D
 
I'm going to wait for the real details of the 390x Fury before deciding on a 980 Ti. I also think that the new flagship card the Fury should have its own name and lose the 390x part that the 290x rebrands have now got.
