I'm just going by what you said, that you wanted two 390s.

I'm not wound up at all I just don't get what point you were trying to make. Someone moving from a 290 to a 970 probably spent <£100 after sale to see little to no difference. Your outlay if you move from two 290s to two 390s will probably be at least £400 after sale for a bigger difference but still likely won't be noticeable on screen.

And I do want two 390's... And if the performance is there then i'll buy two.
I am very sure going from 1080p to 1440p the 390's will perform better than 290's..
Guess we see once real world number start to drop. I can bet you right now going from one 290 to a 390 will be a worth while upgrade. :p

A guy goes from a 680 to a 7970 to a Titan to a 290x to a 980. I respect that mans choice and nothing laughable about it. I find it funny when people are so narrow minded, they can't look outside their own small world and see the big picture.

Yeah! And there mostly the guys that like to Bench a lot and push numbers, there one who will be happy.. Am talking gaming performance, the normal PC gamer.. Like myself

For the more frugal, newer cards will bring even more price drops to the current stack, so the normal gamer should be happy as well, but your original comment was about people who went from 290X to GTX 980. Those are high end cards !

So that same type of buyer will be happy to see more high end GPU's as soon as possible...

It all revolves around price/performance Greg didn't you know that? Nothing else matters :p

For some it does and again, I respect that but some people like to try new things and have the money to do so. I do shake my head in disbelief and the thoughts of some of the posters here and is it narrow mindedness or just being dumb?

That's aimed at those who like to voice their opinion and not prepared to see anything else.

In crossfire it's very unlikely you're going to get 100% scaling in most games, since you're already at high fps on two 290s the difference really isn't going to be noticeable.

Depends on the games coming out! Crossfire 7950's used to smash the frame rates on BF3 you seen 7950's on BF4 ultra it isn't the best frame rate..

I know this is probably the most hated question ever but what would be a realistic ETA on these cards? I'm planning on buying a 1440p monitor and new gfx card in January so but i'm guessing the 300 series cards wont be until march or something?

Thanks

Looks fine to me he's above 90fps most of the time and that's without Mantle by the looks of it.

You would have to go back to Jan and compare your DirectX performance in the same scenario anyway to compare.

whaaaaat ;)

I lock mine at 90fps (dont have a fancy high hz panel) with ultra, 2xmsaa, 150% res scale with post process off and 90% of the time it doesn't even budge from 90fps. Only under massive explosions does it drop 20 frames or so, but even then it stays above 60fps. That's not what I would call "not the best frame rates" more than happy with that. But I guess you're used to 120fps with your screen so can understand what your kinda saying I guess.

your mad shanks old boy ;)

Nice try but that's not how you work out difference in games...

Look at game benchmarks it's around 20fps difference not 49....

You really will try anything to win a debate and you end up looking silly.
