Post your actual energy usage

I’m actually pretty happy with that. Used less gas than any of the coldest months last winter, considering we were home for half of December and had guests over for several days. New dehumidifier arriving tomorrow that will also remove any excess moisture from the house.

Usage for 2022

Electric 3954 kWh (2410 kWh from grid, remainder from solar)
Gas 11326 kWh

Should be finishing the log burner install in the next couple of weeks so will see a reasonable dent made in the gas consumption (free logs)

1960s bungalow with cavity wall and well insulated loft and floors. It's big though, 190m2 and Mrs f is home all day.

1980's 4 bed detached house with a small solar array on the roof.

2021
Electric : 2409 units
Gas: 10810

2022
Electric: 2281
Gas: 7400

despite the lower useage in 2022 the bill was approaching double that of 2021! eek

Our fixed tariff finishes 1st March, received an email with the new tariffs and estimated usage for the year.
These are based on your annual use:
flash@2x.png
Electricity: 4,692 kWh
fire@2x.png
Gas: 20,310 kWh
These are my latest gas readings below, am I being a bit thick or is the estimated gas high?

Those are reads in m3 which you need to convert to kWh, it's roughly m3 x 10.9.

So about 3000 kWh of gas used from 22/11 - 22/01. 20000 for the year does seem off considering those are some of the coldest months.

You pay based on usage anyway not estimates.

Just did my monthly readings as normal at start of month so:

January 2023:
Gas: 485 kWh (£49.85)
Elec: 90 kWh (£30.38)

Total of £105 incl SC which, in itself, is £25 or nearly ¼ of my bill... Robbing swines :(

Our 2022 data

: 4 bed detached house built in 1999, which sees no sun from mid November to start of February.
: Electric car
  • Electricity : 10,200 kWh [£1,187]
    -> Peak Time use : 2,410 kWh [£723]
    -> Off-peak use : 6,190 kWh [£464] | Total of this going into electric car : 4,000 kWh [£300 / 12,000 miles]
    -> Solar generated : 1,600 kWh (from July 2022)

  • Gas : 10,700 kWh [£1,050]

Gulp, early Jan 2022 - early Jan 2023 data

- 3 bed victorian brick semi detached with rear & loft extensions (original plot built in 1897, extensions within last 20 years)
- 2 adults, WFH ~50% of work week

Electricity: 3805 kWh
Gas: 18,177 kWh

Gas usage is down roughly 20% from previous year but that'll be mainly down to new double glazed sash windows and front door in old part of the building in Jan 2022. Next step might be replacing open fireplace with woodburner to further limit draft in living room.

January has been a shocker

Submitted my gas read for month.
Waiting for the bill.

But wow. Its a 200gbp bill! And I'm on a really cheap rate! Need to sort it out.
But really it's a 50/50 split electricity to gas.
Its actually the electric that's up this month. I think the plasma TV is adding a good chunk as gf has been off sick a bit and had it on more than usual.

Can't post units yet as bill (for some reason) takes 2 days to generate
