As mentioned, not an MOT requirement, however the boys in blue like to have a whinge at every opportunity about them. shame theres nothin gthey can do about it :p

I used to take them off just for trackdays then I kind of prefered the look of the bike with em off.

Although I have put the standard can, number plate etc back on recently, got sick of getting busted everytime I went out.

Nice Blade m8!!!.

Updated pics of my RSV, now got the Blueflame race can fitted.

Coupled up with the Evo race airkit, the tunes this thing now makes when its "on song" are absolutely fantastic !!!!. :D

Yo Draeger, that RSV is pure filth :D

The noise they make is fantastic, wouldnt mind one when i am finished with the FZ6.

Cheers!!!.

RSV prices have fallen through the floor recently. You can pick a 2003 model RSV up for around £3000 now. An RSV-R of the same vintage for about £4000.

Its just the way the market is just now. £3 or £4k buys you an absolute shedload of bike for the money if you choose a big 'Priller.

The only RSV's that seem to be holding their value are the Colin Edwards replica and the Haga replica.

Even the "new shape" RSV's have dropped substantialy in price. Early '04 plates can be had for around £4000-£4500 now.

Fantastic bikes for the money, I still have a grin as wide as the Forth road bridge every time I ride mine and no offence to the inline 4 guys, but I cannot see myself moving away from big litre V-twins for some considerable time. :D

I might just get one then :D

Only thing is i am 18, but will be un-restricted in another Year come August. By time im finished with the FZ6 which should be bout 2 years (unless any mondeos get in my way again). So at 20 years old insurance shouldnt be too expensive.

Whats the Rsv like for reliability and general running costs?

Just heard a few people say that parts are expensive and they aint so reliable.

Running costs are reasonable, no more than any big Jap ricer.

Reliability of these machines is excellent.

The Rotax V60 990 engine is pretty much bulletproof. I have been an Aprilia owner for many years now and I'm a member of almost all internet forums regarding these bikes ( as RSV_Ecosse, look me up on the Bikers Oracle RSV forums, RSVR.net and the apriliaforum.com ) and I have yet to hear from anyone who has owned one and had anything go seriously wrong with them.

There are the usual problems, some unique to the model, but no more so than can also go wrong with pretty much any bike.

I can link you up to a short buying guide/things to look out for thread that I did, will give you the "guts" of what to look for if you decide to purchase a Mille, here is the link:-

http://www.bikersoracle.com/rsv/forum/showthread.php?t=5334&highlight=switch

Any other questions, just fire away. If you would rather not go too off topic in this thread, my email is in my trust.

The Mille was my first ever big v-twin. Prior to that, I always had inline fours.

I was gobsmacked when I first rode this thing in standard trim and I'm still grinning yet especially after its been tweaked here and there with a few performance mods.

Buy one m8, you wont regret it.

Very nice!!.

Always thought the Marchesini's looked better than the 3 spokes on Duc's.

They will look ace, dark wheels on a red bike always do ( but then again, as I said, I am biased....lol!!! ).

Make sure you post pics of it once the wheels are fitted!! :D

Draeger ever had problems with wheelspin in the wet? (2002 Rsv)

Was out with a mate on Sat (was supposed to be nice but chucked it down ) and he was getting wheelspin in nearly every gear one he got past 8k .
Tyres are Metz M1's and have about 1k on them .

On the A10 playing with a scoob he was fishtaling at over a ton which looked really scary from my view . Never had any traction probs on the gixxer and he was quite suprised how quick i could go given the conditions .
