Post your bikes thread

yeah the FG anf FH VFR750's both have a 198inch rear and 16inch front wheel, they can be converted to 17inches however it seems a bit of an issue rather than a east sttraight forward job. tthe VFR's after hat all came with 17inch wheels :)

very nice looking bike that mind dave :)

Thanks :)

The 450RR has a 17" front and 16" rear (quite normal for off roaders apparently)

I've also got a commuter, but that's at SBK having the siezed calipers sorted as well as the camchain and a few other bits

Finally got my bike sorted.

Started off life like this:

(Although the picture above was actually taken after the accident, only touched one side  )

Until I had a miss understanding with the tarmac on a trackday:

Still the twin pipes, It's just the way the photo was taken. Still have the hi-levels too, just use the standard cans over winter.

Fairings are the Chinese ones from eBay, £280 delivered from China, prepainted etc. No import tax as they were marked as a gift ;) Tank cost a further £100 plus £10 decals to be repaired and resprayed.

I probably could have had the original ones repaired and resprayed for around £300 but as long as the Chinky ones hold up, its a very good price, took them to the guy who sprayed the tank and he was impressed with the finish considering the price, plus I still have the scarred original panels for trackdays.

£280?. That's brilliant value. Got a link?. I'm planning on a couple of track days this year and spare plastics would be handy, especially at that price.

That's a bit of a diverse change?. Speed Triple to a Versys?.

Mind you, I'm one to talk. I traded a Suzuki GSXR 750L in for a BMW K100RS at one point many moons ago. Salesman thought I was nuts. And the Mille I currently have was supposed to be a Honda Blackbird. The missus went mad when I left in the morning to go to the dealers to pick the Blackbird up but came home sat on an RSV. :D

Just checked on eBay and it doesnt look like anyone sells early RSV plastics :( My actual plastics are from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/e...0510502074&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK:MEWAX:IT

I ordered from US eBay because the currency conversion worked out cheaper, although I think it swung the other way now.

The Versys really is a great bike though. I loved mine after supposedly downgrading from a GSXR750, and will definitely buy another one at some point. If they could add 15hp with no weight penalty it would be perfect.

It is quite a change but so far Im not missing the power.
Much more comfortable, lighter and so far more fun for my style of riding.

Only bad thing is the vibration through the pegs at certain revs but apparently thats fixed with the 2010 version.
Also, the build quality is abit poor, lots of furry bolts here and there.

Traded in my old CB1000R for a new CBF1000

Hi all, i thought i would post a pic of my new bike, Honda CBF1000, i traded my old bike in for this, you can see my old bike here > My new bike > Honda CB1000R, the reason for me trading my CB1R in and getting the CBF is that the wife was very nervous on the back of the CB1R and i also want to do a bit of touring sometime this year, europe hopefully, but the CB1R just wouldn't have been to practical for this, hope you like it.
