Nice  but if getting new why get black when you like yellow ?

( We really need a general bike talk crap thread :p )

Anyone else going to have a look at the new Knox Handroid gloves when they are out?
Look damn sexy!

Me and my mates bike side by side, mine being the red one.

Just had the 12,000 mile service, got it done at 11,000 mind you for convenience sake lol. And oh my god, it feels SO much better, and I didn't think it felt bad before the service. Just really looking forward to the Summer now, or at least Spring! Just need some new tired first :p.

Just wanting to get rid of that rear footpeg! Got a R&G Matt Black one, but doesn't fit, waiting for an email back from intobikes.co.uk who I bought it from, who intern, are waiting for an email back from R&G lol.

Yea RnG are always slow at replying :/
Do you take pillions then? I just bought an exhaust hanger and only put the pegs on when I needed :p

Nah no pillions lol. Don't even have a rear seat, only the cowl. Always said, GSX-R is for my fun, the bandit was shareable lol.
I think my girlfriend would probably cry being on the back of the GSX-R anyway, she was never too comfortable on the bandit.

Still got the '08 blade for road use (White and black), despite having a huge itch for the new BMW S1000RR

but upgraded the trials bike to a Beta Evo:

new? A smidge under £4k. Picked mine up as an ex-demo for a smidge over £3k. Spares are cheap, running costs non-existant, and club membership about £40/year.

and now looks like this:

Lovely SP1 there :)

Quick questions if I may;

How was the fit (did you have to faff about with the holes and stuff that were pre-drilled?)

What was the quality like?

Which eBay seller did you get it from (there are loads about on eBay)? ->nm seen the other link you've put up

I'm asking as I'm thinking of getting a 2nd set of fairings to use on a track days and keep the originals prestine.

Cheers :)

Not seen them in the flesh, they look interesting, but as I've recently shelled out for a couple of sets of gloves I'll stick with my racers for now.

Also the Handroids are quite expensive aren't they?

£160 so top of the price range for gloves.
I need new gloves well I do and I dont, I need new goretex racer style ones but really dont want to spend another £140 on them when they only cut 1 glove off me lol, but I really like the Handroids, but I have not tried them on yet so might hate them.

This is the hire bike I got a couple of weeks ago after I was rear ended up a bmw driver, this is it getting cleaned by my self after I had a 500 mile trip on it on my holiday, it was black lol.

Honda VFR 800 - It's cack. No power, power band far to clumpy and in your face, terrible front end in the bends, wants to run wide... and ABS.... Don't get me started, why would I want my front on mid bend? GRRRRR. But, gets me from A-B whilst my baby is being fixed.

Fit was fairly good, some holes needed adjusting but thats easy if you have a dremal. They were actually designed to fit with a new bolts, so most of the OE bolts didnt fit but as I found out (atleast for the SP1) the thickness around some of the mounting points were not the same thickness so the OE bolts with builtin spacers didnt fit without washers. Most people who complain that the fit isnt very good are the type of people who expect OE fitment and dont have the skills to make slight adjustments.

The quality of the plastic and finish of the paint is good imo, took them to the guy who sprayed my tank and he was very impressed considering the overall price. It isnt top spec dream machine but overall its a solid finish.

They make sense even for track days. Everyone likes a good looking bike :) cheap fibreglass race fairings will set you back £200-300 new, plus £200-400 to get them sprayed in a good scheme. All the fibreglass fairings I've seen have been a terrible fit, 100 times worse than the chinese fairings.

... and ABS.... Don't get me started, why would I want my front on mid bend? GRRRRR.

You mean CBS? Which operates front and rear calipers at the same time. I'm not a big fan, but with ABS (C-ABS) it's safe and works.

I've always liked VFRs, they're usually punchy and trade top end for decent torque. As it's a hire bike maybe they've pegged the power back?

I had a vfr vtec but didn't keep it very long. I was doing a lot of motorway miles so thought it would be ideal, but in the end I just had to get myself something a bit sportier. The only thing it had over my current blade was comfort, and tbh I wouldn't say I find my blade uncomfortable.

The brakes were truly shocking. I'd go as far to say that the brakes were better on my cb500 back when I was restricted to 33bhp. Also service costs were more expensive than your typical bike. Think a main service was something like £400 (compared with £250 for the blade). Spark plugs were more expensive as well as if I remember correctly, it needed a special type? In all I found the bike slower and more expensive to run than my current Blade.

I always liked the look of it though, esp the single sided swingarm, and the raised twin cans.
