Not great is it :o :D

Asus P5W64 Pro motherboard. All you have to do is switch on write caching basically iirc on the array within the Matrix Storage Manager software. default cluster size used when creating the RAID 0 array in the DOS DOS raid manager

Seagate 320GB 7200.10 SATA2 16 MB cache, NForce 410 onboard SATA2 controller.

Is that the fastest single drive in this thread? :p

Aye, that be complete rubbish, no single HD can manage that! RAID Raptors only just gets there.

Yup I did some snooping around and found the ICH7R chipset shockingly fast - I'm going to check what chipsets I own I may have one aready.

Nice one

That is bloody sweet what motheboard is it ? and how the heck do you guys get such high burst speeds (edit: very small cluster sizes ?)
Burst speeds on Intel boards tend to be mad due to the burst coming from the cache on the ICH chip, therefore, the max bandwidth is that of the ICH to MCH interconnect.

Western Digital Raptor 36GB 8mb cache, haven't done my data disk though, the results are better than I thought.

I havent touched ncq, but I uncheck "allow indexing" as I remember it was a tip somewhere.

Maxtor diamond max 250Gb sata II 16Mb 1 partition.

Samsung Spinpoint, 3 partitions OS, games, files 200Gb sata II 8Mb

Western digital pata wd120jb 120Gb 16Mb 1 partition

Got a new Samsung 320GB 16MB on its way Monday, to replace the Raptor 74 and Seagate 160GB. Decided to go for a quieter system, so am replacing them with a single quiet drive, but still quite quick too. Will post benchmarks when I get it :)

It's official - I hate HDTune:

4*72Gb 15k.4 Seagate Scsi Cheetahs - Dell Perc 4e/dc - Raid 0
