Hey Chong,

What are the Q-Acoustics 1050i like? I was thinking of upgrading to some floor standing fronts.
Nice set up btw :D

They're very good and to be honest you could use these and be without a subwoofer when the volume is high enough. Very clear and clean sounding yet powerful when needed and volume is cranked up. Great with both music and movies and they look good aswell on the metal plinths. As good as the 2010's are, especially for their size, the 1050i's blow them away for not much more money so if you have room then go for it ;)

If you're interested I got mine for a bargain £150 from a guy on Ebay who is selling all his gear to go work abroad. He had 2 pairs and still has the other pair for sale which he's now dropped to £140! (As you can't buy these from a shop anymore I'll provide a link. They're here http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Q-ACOUSTIC-AW...omeAudioHiFi_HiFiSpeakers&hash=item3f02efc05a ) Only thing is they're pickup only from Nottingham, I drove down from Manchester and picked them up. As I've been to his home I can vouch he really takes care of equipment and is the ideal type of person to buy off 2nd hand.

For that type of money you can't go wrong.

Thanks for the Info. They indeed look like very good speakers and at that price its a steal.
But I live just outside Edinburgh so would be a long trek for me to go to collect them lol.
Cheers for the link tho :D

Need to get some pictures of your setup to give me some ideas ;)

I thought I should update my Home Cinema & Hi-fi Equipment, since I recently purchased a new 42" LCD screen:

LG 42LD690 LCD
PS2/DVD
Heybrook HB 150 Speakers
NAD C320BEE Amplifier
Pure DRX-701ES DAB Tuner
Marantz CD65 MkII
Mordaunt Short MS308 Subwoofer

My amplifier and speakers are connected via some fairly thick OFC cable, which colours my music in a better way then the cheaper non-OFC stuff that I used to use.

I do have my Subwoofer and Amplifier hooked up via an RCA phono lead, but I don't like how over-the-top it all sounds running off a Tape-out, as well as the lack of volume control and balance from my Amplifier volume control - so I'm going to get more OFC cable and use my high-level Speaker connectors instead now, as I had before.

I will post a pic soon (when I tidy my room!).

Kind Regards,

David

Here's some picks of my new setup :) I'm using a Optoma hd200x projector that displays in full 1080p hi def along with a 84 inch screen to display it on. The need for speed shift pics are using my pc for display which looks gorgeous and much better than the ps3! I only use the ps3 for bluray playback. The sound system will be upgraded by Christmas hopefully. I've got a basic amp that came part of a ONKYO HTS3305 package. I found the front speakers pretty weak so I replaced the small satellites with some old acoustic solutions speakers I've had laying around for years. I wasn't happy with the center and bought a q acoustics 2000C and plan on replacing the other speakers and sub with speakers from the same range. I also want to replace the amp with something much better, but Ill have to wait:( Here's the pics anyway:
