Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

Nah mate, still living with my parents unfortunately :( Theres a tidy tv in the living room to watch sky on. This is the spare room my parents gave me so I'm lucky in that sense. I was thinking of getting a slim lcd to put behind there but I realised I wouldn't use it enough, plus I need to save seriously to move out. I use the projector for some light gaming on the pc and watching my blu-rays a few times a week. Nothings beats having my mates over and playing modern warfare 2 though!

I wasn't happy with the center and bought a q acoustics 2000C and plan on replacing the other speakers and sub with speakers from the same range. I also want to replace the amp with something much better, but Ill have to wait:(

I can thouroughly recommend the Q-Acoustics 2000 pack. Absolutely awesome if you are on a budget. I have them setup at home, im not made of money and these represent superb bang for buck. Thats what I wanted.

Yeah that's what I'm looking at mate :) It looks like a cracking sound setup! I'm impressed with the center I've got already. Its clear and defined, far more than the old center I had. Everything sounded slightly muffled on the vocals, but Ive been blown away with the 2000c. I'm looking to complete my setup with some 2020's at the front with 2010's at the back and finally the 2070s sub. I'm thinking of getting an Onkyo 608 amp to finish it all but I'm not 100% sure on which amp to get yet. You got any pics of your speakers mate? They're pretty sexy looking as far as speakers go lol :D

Really nice set up mate! cant believe you had some of that stuff for free :) How do you find that Sony amp with the speakers? Ive been looking at the SONY STRDH810 which has had some good reviews.

Very good, very good indeed. The problem is that I don't have anything similar to compare with. A Lot of people dismiss the Sony in favour of the Onkyo amps, whether its because its Sony or it genuinely sounds worse im not sure.

My whole setup was based around band for buck (Ok so i was lucky getting most of it free). The Sony STRDH800 got great reviews throughout the audio mags. I wouldn't hesitate to get another one providing there was not a noticeable difference for not much more money. I wouldnt spend another £150-200 for something that sounds slightly better. Another £50 then yes.

Im rushing a bit this morning as im off the lovely Bristol. I get some pics up later tonight when im back. If you need anything in particular just give me a shout.

As promised some better pictures of my current setup, plus a picture of where it all started.

Yamaha rx-v396rds amp  classic.
yamaha sub tucked away under the mess.

I will take a photo on my proper camera once the rooms tidy.

My current setup, still to renovate this room but have had the rewire so got some sockets in the right place! All the kit carried over from last house and of course cant have it how i want so sitting on random furniture (plasma was wall mounted last house) and telly is far too high up :(
