Finally got most of it set up, pc desk doesn't arrive for another week and a few cables to tidy up once it does. I really should use a proper camera as well.

Looks good, I think I've got the same amp as you, Cambridge Audio 640C? You need to hide some of those cables and fix the aspect ratio on the TV though ;)

Those shelves just don't look right to me and are not doing you any favours with the cable management.

What is that thing under the TV, a radiator cover that can not be moved? I would be tempted to extend that box with a small cabinet where your subwoofer is, and house all the gear in there, then connect everything to an AVR (which it doesn't look like you have) rather than directly to the TV.

Then you would only have a couple of cables running to the TV which could be easily hidden behind plastic duct, or in the wall.

As it stands currently you will always have a cable issue, but moving everything underneath the TV would be a good start (you can probably fit all the cables into a larger cable duct), and the addition of an AVR would finish the job.

hmm anythign perticularly wrong witht he shelves? the cables can go through the bottom of the self stand and through the hollow middle out a hole just above the shelf, have done that now.

yeah its a radioator cover, and i wish i could move it, but the female population in my house would put a hit out on me.

i have connected the PS3 and xbox via HDMI to the samsung BR player and that outputs a HDMI to the TV (sound though the surroundsound) there are only 2 inputs though, so the skybox is connected directly to the TV.

how would i go about putting the wires into the wall, and what if i would want to move stuff around, the wires would be locked in the wall?

Wow... I honestly don't think I've ever seen a radiator cover in my entire life. Why does it exist, doesn't the wood restrict heat from flowing fully?

Shamrock - what headphone amp you using there mate?

Nothing wrong with the shelves per se.. just the cables running from them to the TV, which you wouldn't have if the equipment was all together under the TV, and the cables could be bundled together into a single duct. Either an external plastic one you stick on the wall, or a internal one which you can run cables up.

Considering the radiator situation I would go external in this case, and its a very cheap and easy fix. The cable duct I just bought was about 3 pounds fifty for 3 metres

What are those speaker stands? Are they any good? Need some stands for my Wharfedale 10.1s and struggling to find the best looking / most solid option for under £100.

Atacama Nexus stands are fairly cheap and look alright. Can be picked up second hand for peanuts. In fact i think i gave my old ones away!

Partington Dreadnaughts are very solid and might be able to be bought for your budget

It's actually a 640A and you know fine well it was a dodgy music video :p
Got it a bit tidier now and my computer desk to the left of it. Going to get something like the zontac to stream stuff to the TV soon.

Sky, Xbox, Receiver etc all hidden away in the sideboard to the right which you can just about see. Second image showing the thickness of the Samsung D8000

love the 8 series LED, and the clean looking setup in general. Really nice.

But indeed the TV and the Fireplace don't look straight in this pic.
