Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

Thanks guys. I picked up the centre second hand, I can't afford new prices. I quite like the look of it in black anyway so I'm very pleased. I sounds fantastic now, so much detail.

My rears are currently the weak point. I have Atlantic technology 4.5. Im now on the look out for Monitor Audio BXFX in black or light oak to complete my setup. Then maybe a new TV.

Ezah, yours looks fantastic, those RX8's must have a truck load of punch.

ahh I see, fair enough. The centre gear is all coordinated anyway :)
I didnt have room for the FX speakers so went for the RX1 as surround and im pretty happy with it, and as for the RX8, I did want RX6 but he didnt have them in black, so the dealer gave me the 8s for only 200 quid extra. I think I am future proof now for when I move to a bigger place.:D

Finally gave the luxman a service and cleaned up all the switches and pots. Smooth as silk now with no crackles or pops. Still needs some modifications to change the lights over to LEDs as only phono works and the circuit is slightly roasted due to a common fault. (insufficient heat dissipation) Also got a second cd player to go with it, a philips CD-930 and am on the hunt for a nice turntable. The surround system is completely separate with its own set of devices. I've been rebuilding the goodmans speakers with some kef B200 drivers and i'm on the hunt for some suitable tweeters too.

The goodmans minister speakers. (Before the cd player turned up, the tweeter is temporary until i find suitable replacements.)

Oh...and sorry about the mess! Im getting there...

Haha trust me so do i! I just have so many that ive given up trying anymore. I get by for now, when i get my own place il have more room and il see about sinking the cables into the walls and getting more trunking.

Thats a lot of kit in a small space, very nice man cave!

yes a few cables around, but i'm sure they just fade away from view after finishing that spliff and bong ;)

Hey, didn't know you were on here too.

Speaker cable is QED Silver Anniversary XT Biwire.

I don't post much on here these days but when i was more into desktops etc instead of sound equipment i used to be a more active poster!

I used to use QED Silver Anniversary XT bi wire as well but then i switched to Chord Rumour 4, after all that i think i am just going to switch back to using more standard copper cable to give a "warmer" sound which won't be quite as clinical as these last 2 cables have been. Still waiting for this XLS200 to turn up though, shoudl be here in the next few hours!
