Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

this would be an idea method to raise my tv so my centre can fit in front of it! i would just have to put a shelf underneath the bottom as my av unit has a glass top and wouldnt appreciate metal legs on it..is this doable? the tv is a 46 plasma and obviously fairly heavy
Should be possible, though it'd be difficult to build something that would match an existing finish.

Strength wise, my stand weighs well over 20Kg without anything on it. Add in all the hi-fi and it's in the ballpark of 60kg+. I can only just lift it from a side and it's possible to slide it on carpet with some effort. There isn't a problem with stability, though it will wobble slightly if shoved. The shelves were strong enough to support my weight.

it wont really be visible, it will sit behind the centre speaker to just raise the tv up. Just so you know what i mean here is my stuff atm. the centre is on the floor and is pretty fat so would hide the stand completely when viewed face on

Just got some of these for Christmas from the missus.

She's sick of me having the sub pounding the floor so I said buy me a decent set of headphones then :p

Absolutley fantastic quality and some nice bass. Not as ridiculous as Beats (that's just strapping two subs to your head!) and there's a great balance all round :)

Here's mine, I've had the actual components for a while but now that I've moved house, this is the first time I've been able to have everything displayed nicely on a decent-sized TV unit; I was using an hilariously small glass shelf unit before which was so cramped.

Speaker placements still aren't great but it's better than it used to be, I'll look into stands at a later date. At the moment I'm just happy that I don't have items sat on top of each other!

missus just ordered the 32 ohm version for me, the Limited editions. cant wait. how is it going form open headphones (i have HD555s) to closed?

I just did this move a couple of weeks ago, I went for the DT 770 80 ohm version. Maybe slightly less detailed than the HD555 but much more bass, in games I'm not sure the positioning is quite as good but over all I'm very happy. First thing you notice is how well they seal and block out noise compared to the open headphones, I can no longer hear the traffic outside.

TheVoice, is that stand from Ikea? It looks similar to mine (can't remember the item name).

It is, can't remember the name either! I've had it for a couple of years but never used it as a TV unit before because I didn't have the space in my previous flat.

Was going to buy a dedicated unit from Argos last week, but then I realised this one would do the job just as well (if not better, as it has more shelves). Plus a lot of dedicated units seem to be rather low for some reason, whereas this one is a decent height which I prefer.

Finally got round to taking some Photos.

Tv upgraded from a Panasonic 50" to a Panasonic 55" TXP55VT50B
Hardan Kardon HKTS7 Speakers
Yamaha RX-V673 AV AMP
Technics ST-HD55 Hi-Fi (had this a long time!)
Virgin Tivo
Xbox 360
PS3
N64!
Toshiba HD-XE1 HD-DVD Player

Where is that TV stand from and which one is it? Looks pretty much perfect for my needs!

Finally got around to taking a few pics. I've barely settled into my new house so it's still a work in progress, waiting on AV cabinet, TV bracket, speaker stands, coffee table, rug etc...

TV: LG 50" PK590
Screen's too shiny for this room and feels too small, gonna wait for a larger Panasonic plasma to drop into range :D

Soooooo comfy! I fall asleep on them so easily, which is annoying as my alarm clock is upstairs so I'm occasionally late for work haha!

Can't wait till the room is finished! :D

The past couple of months I have upgraded too:

Samsung 55"ES7000
Pioneer VSX527 Amp
Pionner S-HS100 5.1 speakers

Pretty modest setup in terms of sound but for the room size it's more than adequate, I picked the amp and speakers up whilst at a lower price.

The TV is just sublime.

Ignore all the finger prints, the joys of having a one year old, she knows not to touch the TV though!
