Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

very nice looking rooms Tom and Phate.. It reminds me to pull my finger out and do my floor.. I hate my ceramic tiles especially in the winter..

Ta! I'm hoping to pick up a floor in a winter B&Q Sale or something...going to cost a lot though, my living room is what you see there plus the same again the other side!

Surprised how many people have such 'hard' reflective environments for their systems; wood floor, minimalist features etc - no criticisms here guys (I love that look myself) but have you tried adding in some absorbing materials?

I was also thinking this.
A rug and foam-backed canvas pictures, curtains etc will help.

Our home theatre is still under construction.

To be honest there is more a lot of people could do to improve the sound quality, however...I've reached a point where I'm happy with what the sound delivers...its better than most peoples I go round and truely makes films far more enjoyable and nobody would ever turn round and say its 'bad'

So for what it would cost for how much of a difference it would make, I'm not that fussed, besides...I don't like carpet! lol :p

My living room is far from finished anyway, when done I'll have a blind/curtain of sorts over the patio doors which will help box it in. :)

I'd be fighting a losing battle here :( I have windows both sides and a massively high ceilings (5.5 metres from floor to ceiling over the balcony). Place is very echoey but not much im gonna be able to do to fix that.

Out of interest what building are you in in Manchester? I used to live on Tib Street and am looking to move back into the city centre in the near future. Your place looks fairly good.

Like I say - no criticism, it's something I suffer with to a certain extent with my main L/R being closer to the side walls than I'd really like, however I'm planning on adding in some absorption to the side walls directly next to the speakers to address this. :) The difference, especially when looking at bang for buck, is absolutely huge. Focus, response etc are massively improved.

In the last 3 weeks Ive bought.

Yamaha RV-671 AV Amp
Sony KDL46HX853 3D LED TV
Tannoy HTS-101 5.1 Speakers
Sony Blu Ray Player BPD-S790
Yamaha RV-V673 (RX-V671 Broke down after 1 month?)
Nintendo Wii U 32gb Black

What Hi-Fi has a lot to answer for, but love the setup.
