Yeah true - but the room I had before was even smaller haha!
The last pic makes the room look a lot smaller than it actually is, there's a fairly decent distance between the sofa and the back wall and there's a coffee table between the sofa and the TV.
7.1 just adds to the immense overkill lol

Hi all, Im very new to this so was hoping to pick your brains about a setup.
My budget is about 3000 for a complete cinema setup, I was thinking about getting
Optoma hd300x Projector
Onkyo TXNR818
Monitor Audio R270HD (5.1)
Is this a good setup or is there better out there for the money?

Bit miffed as I've discovered that one of the side speakers was really scuffed along the bottom edge while it was mounted, but oh well, I guess as long as the lights are down, no one will notice!
Need to get a new cable for my sub *SVS PC-Ultra) and wondering whether or not there'll be any (realistically noticeable) degradation if i go from what I've got now (QED performance Sub) to the QED Micro sub cable... i'm guessing not... but hmmmm

Marantz PM6004 and Rega RP3 pictured. I also have a Marantz CD6004 to play cds, but this was a sunday vinyl day so i didnt bring it out.
The speakers are Monitor Audio BX5's

Do you have cables trailing along the floor then or do you only connect up the cd player/turntable when using them

I'm at my parents at the moment, so it only gets connected when in use.
Buying my first house in the next few months, where the set up will be different.
