Sweet setup man.

I was contemplating the Cambridge Audio stuff, whats it like? I'm a firm believer of keeping the same brand throughout - I hate people with mismatching stuff, looks out of place.

Pics of mine soon (tomorrow). Been recording a documentary with the BBC today :D
The sound quality is unbelievable from the 640A coupled with the 640C, 640T and the 540D and also the picture quality is excelent on the 540D.

@ d.chatten, any probs with the main drivers in the mission's? I was well tempted by the Missions and I was gonna get the 782's but I read a lot at the time that the main drivers bleed and this was a common problem apparently. Managed in the end to get some MA silver S8's for less than half price. Which was the price of the missions.
The main drivers have been re-designed, mainly because of condensation collecting on the ceramic cones in humid conditions, the condensation problem is no longer there.
I have never had a problem with the main drivers bleeding and believe me i have put them through there paces, all i get is crisp sharp sound and the sonic capability is excelent, if you listen to them in person you will soon notice how good they are.
Before i purchased my 782's i asked the store to give me a demo and that demo had me sold.

d.chatten, how do you find the 540D?
Ive been thinking of getting it for a while now.
I think the 540D is an excellent DVD player and the only cons i can find is it won't play DivX.
The 540D also has a multitude of connections, Component, Composite, Scart RGB, Digital Audio out Optical and Coaxal.
It also has a sceensaver function and you can take a snapshot from a movie and use that snapshot as the screensaver.

Thanks.
That just means it can do 480p.
:)

Unfortunatelly Cambridge Audio, and by extension, RS, know very little/give very little info in manuals/spec sheets about what the 540D/540R's video capibilites are.
:(

Hi there,

Only just joined the forum and spotted this section! It's great, so many different types of system!

Here's a list of my kit:

Cyrus CD7Q
Cyrus Smartpower
Cyrus PSXR Power Supply
Yamaha AX1
2x Wharfedale Pi40's
2x B&W CDM2SE's
B&W CDMCSE
Mission M5AS
Hitatchi CPS225 Projector
Sony DVP-NS930 DVD/SACD player
Russ Andrews 6 way Silencer Block
2x 1.5 metre (stereo pairs) Russ Andrews Silver Streak
Van Den Hul Digital Coax Cable
QED Silver Anniversary speaker cable
JVC SVHS deck
Some random (and cheap) JVC tuner!
Sound Organisation Z1 Speaker stands for CDM2SE's

Think that's about everything! Will update if i remember any more!

Incidentally, i bow down to your epic set up Agent WD40 - i love it! Bryston ampage... Awesome!

Viper 2003 that's some nice kit too! The Tag and B&W stuff in particular is some of my favourite! :D

sorry, pics taken on camera phone

NEC 42" plasma :D

It's pretty old but keeps me happy. :)

Marantz CD-63SE CD player
Technics SU-A900MkII amp
Sony ST-S311 tuner

Listen to that through a set of Grado Alessandro Music Series 1 headphones

I've also a pair of Mission 760i speakers although these aren't currently connected.

Updated my 5.1 surround system a bit recently.

From
Tag AV32R + 2x Audiolab 8000p's, 1 8000S, and 1 'homebuild power amp'

To:
Tag AV32R
2x Audiolab 8000m's for front channels
1x Audiolab 8000p running 1 channel driven for Center (I could 'bi amp' but 1 channel popped and I've not bothered to get it repaired)
1x Audiolab 8000p for back channels.

Still using Mission 753 Freedoms for fronts, 75C centre, and Elac Cinema2's for the surrounds.

(Have 750 SE's but no room for them at the moment, so using them on my computer along with the 8000S Amp)

Source's are
Slightly worn out Micromega Stage4 CD
Sony DVD player

Compared to the old 8000p's the 8000m's really drive the system so much better, the system is so much more 'alive' now, amazing difference :)
