Post Your Home Cine & HiFi Kit...

Hopefully this posts ok.

My setup in my new house. I need a new bigger tv but I'll wait and see what happens with the new oleds in October. Mrs has given me the nod which is the first hurdle out the way!

Habitat marco tv stand
Samsung 40d6750
Sky HD
Ps4
Onkyo 22hdx

Decided my music room was too girly (flowery duck egg wallpaper) so decided to re-decorate, I also picked up a mint condition early 80s sanyo turn table, a technics tuner, and a Pioneer PD-7700 cd player, All for well under £100

Sanyo TP1100-2 Turntable
Technics ST-GT350 tuner
Yamaha KX-580 cassette deck

Just had an outbuilding completed, just had to be used for a cinema.

Pioneer SC-LX58 AV Receiver
Pioneer PD50 CD-Player
Raspberry Pi 2 for Plex playback
BT youview box for freeview
Rubbishy Toshiba BD player which was free with the projector
Epson TW6600 - Currently projecting onto the wall, 120" fixed frame screen will be going up soon.
Monitor Audio Bronze surround package consisting of:
Bronze 6,
Bronze FX Surrounds
Bronze Centre (Still working out how to mount this)
Bronze W10 Sub
Excuse the cable mess, still waiting on the cabinet to put all the equipment in so nothing has been tidied yet.

Also not pictured are two Altona HDbase-T converters for HDMI over Cat6

Also pictured are one of the 4 Monitor Audio CL50 outdoor speakers (which are pretty damn good)

Still waiting on curtains to go up so at the moment watching in the dark is only really possible and its obviously sounding a bit bright with no material in there.

Are those bungie cords? Not sure if that's genius or reckless

Bungie cords. The design of a prefab 1970's double garage and a now massive electric door allows little or no space ideally to put a projector ceiling mounted. Looks dodgy I'll agree but it'll not move in a month of Sunday's. My Dad actually came up with the idea which I like you frowned upon but it bloody works if not as fiddly as hell to set up the exact correct position.

It seems to me that the only improvement to TV's in the last 6 years has been their slimness. My 6 year old Sony X4500 is as good as anything on the market currently, bar the overpriced oled TV's.

I'll be resisting the upgrade itch until you can buy a 55 inch 4k oled for £1500.

New TV is pretty thin :p

Same as^, how are you finding it? The only thing I am still figuring out is how to browse the LAN shares from within the TV. Haven't had a huge play around yet, but AllCast/DLNA etc all work nicely for 1080P content.

I thought I'd post some snaps of the current setup. Ignore the mess/cabling - I'd post some excuse but I have nothing except I am having new flooring put down next month. :D

The surround speaker wiring in particular is 'interesting'. It's flat cabling ready to go under the new floor. The man from DPD should be here shortly with my new toys.

Ignore the angle some, had a few last night. :p

Getting there. Just having a listen to some AC/DC. Sadly my amp can't drive these bad boys properly. More ££££.

I think I'm going to have to wall mount the TV.

I just upgraded my fronts from Q Acoustics 2010i's to the floor standing 2050i and tbh I'm really disappointed with the sound. The smaller bookshelf gives a much tighter and all round better sound. Voices sound miles better on the 2010i.

First time I have been disappointed with a Q acoustics speaker but these are not great and will be going back. Running the 2010i's in multi channel stereo with my sub gives far better results....
