If that's plasterboard it's on those cables are a doddle to hide.

I have 3 frames and just cut a 1" ish square in the wall behing the TV and another behind the unit and then threaded it down using something heavy attached to a bit of string that I then tied to the cable.

No solid wall. I have previously chased some parts out for running power to a socket behind the tv but never left a channel with trunking for running anything else.

TV higher now, looks better.
Yes, cables on show, but didn't fancy chasing out the wall and don't want to scupper future cable changes burying them. Would be nice if it was a stud wall, life would be easier lol.

Really liking the centre upgrade, much better than the diamond 10 centre I had, but it's about 4 times bigger lol.

My modest setup..

Living room, Samsung 55" frame with Q70T soundbar (sub is in the hearth, works fine in there)

Kitchen, Samsung 55" frame with Q60T soundbar, TV is in the middle, looks at this the unit underneath has clearly been moved a little. Eventually I'll lower it a bit when we have the kitchen done.

Also have another 55" frame in the bedroom, love them :)

Thanks :)

Not bad from this where we found it as we moved in in July...

That's new cabinets both sides obviously custom made, inlaid with hue strip lights on both sides, shutters fitted and repainted :)

I found a local carpenter who made them from MDF in situ then we primed and painted them.

I think all in it was about £1k, I specified gaps behind each upright that I could thread hue stripblights through :)

Following on from this...

Covid ruined real chances to go out and listen to replacement speakers, but the few shops I did visit actually really let me down in terms of customer service and just letting me listen to some systems. One put me on the shop floor then told me to not turn it up too much.. ok m9.

So eBay to the rescue - I decided to find look for Dali's of similar vintage to mine in attempt to get a matching centre speaker as a minimum. Well I haven't quite succeeded but I found a set of Dali Ikon MK1 speakers (centre + LR) from a guy doing an upgrade.

The centre is a little bit smaller than I had realised, and is a slightly different grey finish on the front. But thwe wood finishes match, so it still looks decent and sounds really good too.

The bookshelf speakers will find their way into my office and be powered by a Sonos amp but I gave them a chance via the Marantz in the living room for two films and I was pleasantly surprised at the bass response and general sound quality. So much so that it had me rethinking floor standers in my living room... until I wanted more volume and the audio became a little bit more complex, then I remembered I'm very much a floor stander kinda guy ;) :D

Anyway today I spent this afternoon routing some cabling (including running a couple of cable pullers so I can run a new HDMI to my projector to support 4K HDR at some point), mounting the TV on the wall and having a general tidy of my kit into a corner unit I got for free from a neighbour.

Aside from the centre looking a bit small, I'm really happy with how it looks now. Rears and Atmos next on the list, and if a larger centre comes up that matches - even better !

Thanks for looking :)

What fire is that please mate?

That Sub looks like an monster!
What the model?

That router needs to move :p

Its a custom order DB3D - they’re usually white with grey trim :)

I’m fully aware better subs can be had, and for a lot less, but I absolutely detest gloss, and almost all high end audio equipment is glossy :(

Plus it’s relatively small - about the same footprint as my old REL HT 1003, yet dual 8 inch drivers and 1000W of power, so it digs really, really deep with no effort and 0 cabinet vibration. And I think it looks quite smart :)

The router does intrude on video games, but for films it’s fine due to letterboxing. Has the added bonus of acting as a reflector, so better Wi-fi signal to the other corner of the house, where my office is.

On a 900Mb FTTP connection, I get 500Mb in the front room with the SH2 and 481 in the office
