Hey, great set up you have! I'm very interested in picking up the Sony receiver that you have, I am assuming its the STRDG820. I was just wondering if you could answer a few Q's I have read some good reviews about it however I also read one that complained about a humming/buzzing noise that is made through the speakers, regardless of the speakers used, have you had this issue at all? Secondly what speakers and sub are you using with the receiver?

Thanks

Hate you :p

Saw the 60incher again the other day in a department store, makes the 50 look like a 14inch portable :D

lol :D I know!

After i placed my order for the 500M, i kept going into John Lewis and kept comparing the 5090 with the 6090... EVERY time i went in there, the 5090 seemed to get smaller and smaller lol

As soon as my 500M was ready to ship, i quickly changed the order to a 600M lol glad I did now, because I know for a fact i'd constantly be going "hmm I wonder what the 600M would have been like........" :(

Every time I walk past my living room, I just look at it - and big grin appears!

Haven't even got it up on my rack yet - that's the scary part :eek:

Possibly not the best place for these (we should start a TV screenshot thread!), but was watching some of Chicken Run on BBC1 and thought it looked mighty fine!

Taken less than 1 metre from the screen, just before the end so not that long ago and the sun is blazing here!

TV = Panasonic 42PX80
Source = Sky+

They look a lot sharper when played live. Paused using the TV's own "Hold" button which slightly blurs the picture, but still they look pretty good i think!

excuse the actual film (I've 2 kids so don't get to watch much of what I want to watch) - but the PQ is very good in it

new TV I've just bought :)

gobsmacked by the PQ - looks almost as if its drawn on

time to ditch the REL then - and get a proper sub :)

the rest of your setup deserves it ....

Posted this way back when but can't seem to find it guys. Popping it up just made some ammendments to the attic room, changed the amp and speakers.
Here's my complete setup:

Here's the main living room with the following :
Pioneer PDP-LX608D 1080p (60inch, 8th generation plasma), Onkyo TX-SR875 (supports full 1080p upscaling, Dolby TrueHD sound DTS HD, and pcm 5.1, utterly amazing), Pioneer LX70A Blu-Ray player.
Speakers - Monitor Audio 5.1 Gold Series - 2* GS20 (Front), 2*GS10(back) 1*GSLCR(centre). Sub - Rel R505, quad core HTPC,

The speakers are utterly mind blowing, best money i've spent on speakers ever, man you guys should check out TrueHD sound and DTS HD it's crazy good! the sub is brilliant too. A good sub is everything in a sound system(imho)

And upstairs in the attic is my console gaming room

Attic - Infocus IN82 1080p, 100" 16:9 screen, Onkyo TR-SR606 amp and kef 5.1 speaker setup with sub.
