That's just LauncherPro, no need for root to get that.

Is LauncherPro still free? ive tried downloading it a few times the last day or so and it tells me download cancelled or failed

Yup always free. Market fails are possible sometimes, just retry download a few times or download from launcherpro.com and install using ASTRO.

Quite happy with my Pulse at the moment. Cant remember the name of the rom, but its android 2.1 with LauncherPro. Getting some reasonable battery life now too! Lasts 2 days minimum now, with normal use!

that twitter/fb app .. howd you get it to scroll? the htc sense mail and friendstream apps are the only thing stopping me root, i have yet to find suitable alternatives.

when i had it i could never get it to scroll

Whats the issue? I just installed it and it worked fine. Then realised that to get the look I needed I had to buy it, but it's only 99p or something. Then you can skin it like my pics.
