Andi, that wallpaper website is the best, but i'm having issues making the wallpapers stand out on my phone.

I'm probably not doing it right, but connecting via USB storage, and just extracting the pictures straight into my DCIM/Camera folder (there isn't a seperate pictures folder that i can see), then when i go to the picture on my phone, and set as wallpaper, it only lets me have some of the picture? Brings up a box to choose what part of the wallpaper i want?!

They're PC wallpapers so the res isn't the same, so you have to crop them a bit. You can make the box bigger by dragging the corners, but it'll always stay the same aspect ratio as the phone.

any wallpaper source will work try to look for what size wallpaper you will need
with the HTC Hero it has a background aspect ratio of 4:3 (1.3333). so you can use wallpaper sizes:
800 x 600
1024 x 768
1152 x 864
1600 x 1200
any other resolution and the image will be cropped the crop box will maintain the aspect ratio of the phones 'desktop' but you can make it bigger or smaller and even move it around

for the lock screen you will need an image in 320 x 480 which coincidently is the size of iphone wallpapers and there is an absolute abundance of those around although you could just use a cropped version of your main wallpaper if you prefer

you can make a wallpaper folder on your sd card and store all your wallpapers in there (it will show up on your phone) and they wont be clogging up the dcim folder

good luck with your wallpapers dude
