Finally arrived last week. Unlocked it yesterday and am just waiting for the apple 4.2 update so i can use UK sim cards. Speaking of which, do any of you know when 4.2 will come out?

Some of you might flame for getting an iphone but after having the HTC touch for almost 2 years and having countless issues with the crappy windows OS i think i deserve a iphone.

Nobody is going to flame you, but dont attribute HTC to Windows Mobile, they are WP7 and Android manufacturers now mostly. Both of which are excellent.

Windows Mobile was :(

Enjoy your iPhone though, certainly a huge step up!

Depends how "deep" you want to theme it.

There's a few full themes on the Modaco forums, these are complete themes and will modify system files. There's about 5 out for Eclair and only 1 for Froyo atm IIRC.

OR, you can just do simple stuff like getting launcher-pro, changing icons, wallpapers, widgets. You cant go wrong with experimenting with this, and you can get it looking pretty decent even without modifying any deep system files.

Check out this thread, it's full of people sharing ideas, widgets, icons, docks, etc..

Hidden the notification bar
Also for my icons at the bottom I might make it even more minimal.
I will have a little circle in place of all the icons apart from the middle one, lol it'll be unusable to others but perfect for me!

No matter, how many layouts/styles I try, I always find my self coming back to this, it just looks good, minimal and is quick and easy to access the stuff I need the most whilst having no impact on my mobile general overall speed etc. It just works:

Starting from left:

- Calendar/agenda widget is one of launcher pro plus widgets

- Snowstorm Weather
- BattStat

- SwitchPro
- Sweet Notes
- 3G watchdog

Wallpaper and dock icons are by khaaan!, although I changed the text/dock icons a tiny bit.

The status bar was made using UOT kitchen.

Love this. going to try and peice it together for myself. could you link to the files please.
