always amazes me that stupid message. Honestly you'd think it was photoshopped, when it was an actual thing.

Something happened....no ****

It's the best error message in the world, imbued with so many levels of irony. It's the kind of thing that IT support would detest, it's one step even further back than "it's not working". But this vagary isn't from a clueless end user, it's from MS itself to the end user.

Utterly surreal.

I just can't imagine anyone crazy enough, and Putin wants a life of luxury, nuclear Armageddon kind of ruins that plan, ditto the other dictators.

Putin knows he's got things pretty cushy. Why risk destroying what he's worked hard for?

The biggest worry for the west is who comes next? If it's a moderate then there may be a chance of finding common ground and working together. If it's a hard line fanatic then we are likely in trouble.

MOD are saying the BBC guy is making it up and they're just spouting Russian propaganda

We couldn't win a war with russia anyway, it's like a mosquito attaching a bear.

our budget might be higher but we don't seem to get much punch per pound

Cool that on the BBC news just now had it all recorded what happened earlier
almost like it was all planned. They knew they would get a reaction of out Russia, they knew Russia would posture but never fire on a warship so they invited a journalist along for the ride as a bit of Navy PR.

Nothing wrong with it, just find it funny that this is what modern day politics looks like between some countries.

We're dumb for not accepting the annexation of a sovereign countries territory by Russia? It's not intended to be a "PR win", it's intended to make a point to our friends who are neighbours of Russia that the UK and NATO are not scared of confrontation with Russia, we won't be bullied by them. You'll also note they didn't fire on HMS Defender. We'll also be doing the same thing in the South China sea with HMS Queen Elizabeth and our carrier strike group.

If Russia could win that easily they wouldnt be so threatened by a single ship lol

When Russia sails past us barely anyone cares.

So you think the UK should have intervened militarily in Crimea? If you clarify exactly what actions you would have taken I'll explain why you're wrong
Never said we should have just it's a bit late now

What's your actual point? The UK isn't starting a war with Russia or single handedly planning an invasion. Just one FYI though, do you know how many of those "silly number" of tanks and planes are actually in working and operational order and not just sat in a military warehouse in a state of disrepair? Do you think Russia has the funds to maintain the amount of equipment they claim to have? Do you think they have fuel, missiles, training hours and spare parts to keep their planes in the air? How many hours of flight time do you think a Russian pilot has each month compared to an RAF pilot? These things actually matter.

If it mattered, we wouldn't be sat here wondering how the Russians annexed crimea 7 years ago and did nothing.

No one is wondering how Russia annexed Crimea from Ukraine, what are you talking about? Please make clear specific points on what you think we should have done instead of speaking so vaguely.
