** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

The issues were poor quality products and shambolic customer service. If I bought a TV today I am totally confident I would get a working good quality TV for the money I paid. You absolutely categorically can not state that about a monitor at the moment. Its a sad fact.

I bought Sony 40hx853 when it first came out 3-4 years ago for nearly a grand it was highest rated TV on a market every review site gave it 5 star. Pleased with it and couldnt fault it. Untill I tried to use it as a monitor and oh dear ! Now I know it has BLB. Now I discovered It has stuck subpixel displaying dark red dot on black background. It is not the best with motion. Downgraded it back to telly and watching from normal viewing distance it's perfect again. In my view.

Oh and it doesn't have G-Sync and it definitely doesn't overclock to 100Hz. Or 95. Or 90. And very slight coil whine when you put your ear next to it.

Conclusion is that not only TV imperfection are far less noticable due to distance but also people buying them tend to be less fussy and don't spend hours testing it and running pendolium demos for no other reason than to find issues. That is why monitor return rates are higher and people complain far less about TVs. How many of you have actually run Pendoleum demo on your TV??

Try to hit manufacture stated mpg on your car. Good luck with that one! And cars get recalled all the time too even when you spend £100k on it.

Could anyone do me a favour,

Could you measure how deep the stand is from the front to rear and drop your monitor to lowest point and measure from the stand to top of your monitor.

Cheers, need to make sure it'll fit on the shelf on a Ikea Fredde desk (seen someone on amazon say it will)

The total stand depth is ~330mm (13 inches) and the screen clears the desk by ~442mm (17.40 inches) at lowest height.

Got mine this morning, straight to 100hz with 0 issues. Can't fault the monitor in the least.

Mine is from the Nov 2015 batch.

Only complaint I'd have is with AAA games not supporting the res

Well after lots of umming and ahhing I noticed the price was on offer @ £899.99 - that's too tempting so thought sod it I'll give one of these a go!

Just praying it does not have BLB (IPS glow is fine), dead pixels, coil whine, scanlines and she overclocks to 100Hz! Not asking for much am I?

I'm keeping positive that I get a good one (both fingers crossed).

I'll report back tomorrow when it arrives.

:)

Exciting :)

Another cherry picked monitor for review, or an in-experienced reviewer who doesn't even know the issues MANY people have been having with it and therefore make any attempt to address them. Pathetic.

After spending 5 hours on mine at home last night I'm more than happy with it. Nice having IPS colour back with a minimal amount of glow in the top left corner but not enough to make me want to RMA it back.
