** POTENTIALLY THE BEST GAMING MONITORS YET!! ** Acer 34" Ultra-wides

Nvidia feeling a need to justify a £150 price difference by basically falsely advertising the Nvidia version as also 'faster' without informing the users clearly and upfront that to do so would be overclocking?

Eh..

G-Sync modules tend to cost around £100-150, so that's what the price difference is down to, not the refresh rate.

I really want to be wrong about this monitor, PLEASE BE GOOD, PLEASE BE GOOD!!

The pessimist in me can see this being a complete mare for those that are brave enough to take the plunge, thank you early adopters for you bravery and deep pockets ;)

My thoughts exactly.

I've been following this monitor for months, it'd be rubbish if it sucks!

EDIT: Just read this review on another forum, excitement levels rising again...

Pro:

- all in all, it is great!
- G-Sync works perfectly smooth
- I run it at 100hz at desktop and with 100hz G-Sync in games. 100hz is enough.
- There are no input lags
- I set the overdrive to "normal", which is very good
- the colors and the IPS panel looks stunning
- 34" fits perfect within my sim racing rig
- I love the ambient light, but i wonder how to set it more bright > slider is not active in the menu

Cons:

- I did not like the handling with the buttons on the screen
- The curved screen could be more curved at this size

Yup, I went from completely flat on the monitor to excited again! I think we might see more and more creep out today, seems like they're slowly making their way to consumer hands.

Not a sausage... no notification emails or anything. :(
Can confirm. Found out through this thread only.

Really, I'm in two minds about this now, and I'm hoping that Badass provides a little information later on today!

On the one hand, the delay is a real PITA as I currently am stuck with my laptop being my only system. On the other hand, if I cancel my pre-order, I'm left with no other decent choices - Asus don't have any competing models, leaving the only alternative as the shiny-plastic-fantastic, problematic XB270HU.

This is a sector of perpetual disappointment. Here's hoping that it's actually all it's cracked up to be, even if overclocking is required. Drojman's post enthuses me a little more.

Should have the X34 with me tomorrow or Monday so a review over the next couple of weeks as soon as I can. Def keen to test this 100Hz business :)

Sweet! Can't wait to read. I am curious as to the motion clarity of 100 Hz on this panel. I'm still not convinced it's all that great being based on that slow 60 Hz LG IPS.

I also find it odd that this screen doesn't have ULMB but according to Asus their PG348Q version does. It would be interesting to see how well the strobing works with a slower panel overclocked to 100 Hz.

I'll have one with me in the next few days hopefully.

I currently have a 34UC97 (which aside from some BLB has been a great panel for me) so I have a nice comparison point.

I'm no professional review in any shape or form, but I can hopefully at least lend some thoughts to the monitor too.
