Power to weight ratio of your car?

Good for you, bet that was fun.

But seen as everyone in this thread has written 'bhp' after their figures, I'm going to use the (documented) bhp figures for the Clio's as a case for comparison. Bottom line is, neither car is 172bhp or 182bhp.
Yes, and I'm quite sure that many people have no clue what "bhp" is (considering that engine power isn't tested using brakes anymore).

Both cars are as much 172 HP and 182 HP as they are 169 HP and 178 HP. Are you too stupid to understand this? Do you know what measurement and correction factors are with regards to engine power?

If you are going to be pedantic we should throw out every single power and weight measurement in this thread unless the power is explicitly quoted as being measured in metric HP in accordance with EU Directive 80/1269/EEC and the kerb weight in accordance with EU Directive 95/48/EC. Unless we ensure that every single figure is in accordance to the same standard (which I guarantee you, they are not) the power to weight figures in this thread could be up to 10% out or more.

OP, best close the thread - Skeeter doesn't think it's accurate enough.

I am more than happy to be proven wrong, but experience tells me that confusions of this nature are almost always related to firstly imperial vs. metric HP and then secondly differing measurement standards, rather than 'invented' marketing HP.

Do you measure the volume of a pint you are served in a pub, taking into account altitude and air pressure, and temperature, to ensure you are in fact getting your full 1 pint measurement?

You have just gone off on a smart arse troll trip to make yourself feel clever in a thread that never asked or needed it. A well spoken troll in a suit with a copy of "Power ratings through the ages" is still a troll.

Simple fact remains, a Clio 182 does not make 182bhp, which is what was stated, and what I questioned. The rest is all you trying to look clever.

Hmm after reading this I am inclined to agree with PMkeates.

Shock horror as a gifted analyst for one of the worlds biggest and best automotive data companies discussing a subject he not only does for a living but has an absolute passion for is absolutely correct about the very same subject :D

YOU came into the thread preaching about the correct figure. You were smacked down by someone who knows vastly more about the subject than you and then you accuse HIM of trolling?

...

AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHA

Updated mine from results from a recent dyno, rather than the PS figure quoted by RS. ( just to make skeeter happy :D )

Thats a point. This whole thing came from me asking alexisonfire a simple, non serious question in jest about his power claim based on the fact I watched it dyno 176bhp. Why did PMKeates feel the need to get involved?

And here was me thinking that on an internet forum you could give an opinion without a written invite.

edit: lol ninja.
