Power Tools & General Tools Recommendations & Advice

This makes me question ordering the Evolution to be honest. I’ve been rigidly sticking to Bosch pro for most of my power tools for years now, but took a bit of a gamble with this.

Now considering cancelling the order and spending some more for a Makita

If i was ripping down fence posts or something then the Evolution would be fine.

Bosch, Makita or Dewalt tbh, as i found out buy cheap buy twice.

Yeah, I don’t know how many times I bought a cheap tool over the years, only to buy another, sometimes another before eventually buying my first Bosch pro. The difference was night and day.

I think I’ll return the Evolution upon delivery and order the Makita I was going to get in the first place… it’s almost double the cost, but will likely be double the quality too!

Edit - think I’ll go for the Makita LS0816F/2. Hopefully it’s a step up. Other alternative is the Bosch GCM 800 SJ

Going to echo this - I have an Evolution mitre saw (think it's the Rage 3-S), and while it's great for rough work, as you say there's too much play in the detents for accurate angles. Was originally bought for some fencing, so it was the perfect tool for the job at the time, but since I've been using it for other work I've definitely been noticing where it falls short.

Went for the Bosch in the end. Brand I’ve used for a while and I like. Little smaller in the width of cut, but it should suit what I need it for, and hopefully will be better all around than the Evo… fingers crossed anyway!

I’m looking for a reasonable priced torque screwdriver, I’m trying to convince myself not to take the Ali gamble. Need it to go from 1nm to at least 4nm

I got the dls211zu when my old saw broke and would recommend. I have an evolution table saw though and it’s very good
