I've found TK max to be pretty similar...

Don't you dare besmirch the good name of tk max! A lot of the clothes there are abominations of fashion but plenty of people wear that sort of thing. You get good quality clothes at really cheap prices. I would wager that you would find a lot of stuff in there that puts high end brands to shame quality wise.

It is a bit of a market stall though, have to look through loads of bad clothes to find the good.

Surprise surprise, Nix is having a moan. ;) How did you get trapped? Are you one of these people that don't know how to say "excuse me" to people? Those people confuse me so much.

Nothing wrong with Primark, mine is alright if very busy.

Are you talking about Argyle St? That place is horrendous unless you get there first thing during the week. Going in at the weekend makes me want to scream and get violent, so I just avoid now.

H&M is pretty good for cheap clothes.

Awful shop.

Yeah it's cheap and probably should be expected, but the quality of the clothing is awful. The t-shirts lose their shape after about a week. :p

LOL poor people!

Have a budget of about $6k to spend so there's a few interesting examples to choose from - for example:

2002 Ford Focus 4dr Sedan 2.0 16V w/70k miles on the clock - $6k with a 30day warranty :-/

But....I think a luxo-wafto-barge might have stolen my eye, chatting to the dealer about various cars and he's offering a 2002 Cadillac DeVille w/ 90k miles on the clock for $6.5k (advertised at $10k) :D

Not to mention insurance on the latter is $1,200 p.a. compared to $1,800 for the Focus
i wish i was a rich man! must be nice driving all those ferraris , porsches , veyrons!

If you thought Primark during normal hours was a zoo you should see how it is right before they close.

Was in a Primark near (or in?) Oxford street, they announced that in ten minutes it was closing. I have never seen something like it. People running around, ripping stuff down. Its not as if it was a one day sale only

Don't mind Primark for basic stuff (plain t-shirts etc) but other stuff is generally very low quality. There are some hidden gems though :)

i had a pair of £8 jeans that lasted around a year before i got a small rip starting in the crotch area they didnt fade much at all in that time either :O

The only thing I have ever bought from Primark was something I wanted for a fancy dress outfit otherwise I don't go near them as a rule. They are glorified jumble sales.

I've never had an issue with Next clothing though, I've still got some items that I've had for years and they haven't fallen apart yet.

What are peoples opinions on Matalan? Another cheapy shop but seems to be far better organised than Primani.

It's worse when fashion dictates a few year's of horrible 'cuts'. Back in 2004, Topman used to be okay for buying some t-shirts and things then for years it started getting very poncey and targetted at skeletons. Not sure what it's like at the moment.

Topman has always had a slimmer fit. What makes you believe it is poncey? They sell the basics, trend samples and various other things therefore providing a variety of choice and styles.

Their 2 t-shirts for £12 (or £14) is a pretty good deal. Great for plain basics.

Can't go wrong for £8 ;):p

Always found H&M good for cheap clothes. My favourite.

they were a nice pair of jeans :p used them for when i was playing football with my son rather than ruin a good pair.

for the money they were decent jeans that didnt fade after a few washs and lasted for longer than expected.

Cheap store for the masses. You can hear the screams as you walk past and I’ve never dared go into our one.

Ditto, never been in one and I don't intend to. I once saw a scarf I liked in the window while walking down Oxford Street and considered going in to buy it... then I looked past the window display into the store and carried on walking down the street :).

Most of the stuff in there is rubbish, but the odd few gems are to be found if you can put up with the rabble. Only place I've ever seen 2 separate stands full of legging/jeggings *shudder*

Primark lack good size variations I find they are always sold out on good clothes.

RTJ

What I can never understand is why cheap clothes are always a terrible fit. It's not like it costs much to get a person to try an item on before mass producing it to make sure it actually fits humans...

It's annoying that because I'm not square t-shirts and shirts always look like I'm wearing a tent. Go to a more expensive shop and suddenly all the clothes seem to fit...

Maybe it's because fat people are more likely to buy cheap clothes?

haha, Primark, I got some Jeans from the one in Leicester last weekend that I thought would fit.. fail

only cost £3.90 though so I'm going to use them to light the barbecue
