Private plates?

I prefer the term "vanity plate" as it's far more accurate. I briefly toyed with the idea then decided I could thing of twenty or thirty better uses for the £700 either of my choices would cost.

I've also seen a CLK DTM a few times, and I still haven't a clue what the number plate is.

I used to have one on my old Legacy B4, because my boss was getting antsy about me turning up on site in a V reg car, even though he admitted it looked just fine and certainly didn't look nearly 10 years old.

Ended up with B4 PWN since it was cheap and fitted nicely on a 13"x84mm front plate using a legal font, and not obstructing the radiator as much as the standard 13" x 6.5" plates.

Annoyingly B4 RSK was on some bloody Mercedes last time I looked. What a waste.

The money I spent on that avoided me having to buy a new car for work. When I got rid of the Legacy I sold the plate on for £200

Entirely pointless and a waste of money, considering that a private plate does nothing more than a free one. Then again I'm not a vain person and would much rather spend the money on something functional.

Saw B160 MAR on a 4x4 recently

was spaced to make BIG OMAR

and yes it did appear to be him driving ( so someone told me ;) )

please do not try and google who the driver was if you are at work :p

LOL, 11 inches of British beef. If he cooks a steak like that why does he need to get naked on the internet?

Anyway, someone in my area (****hole) has a Clio V6 with the plate "V6 CUP". Tis a rather nice clean car too.

Best white van plate I ever saw belonged to a drain unblocking company in Aylesbury

2 line lorry plate. WH0 5HAT

Cracked me up. Probably helps some people remember the company too, and thus serves as an advertising tool.

Worst private plates belonged to telecoms company GPT. They bought a bunch of generic AA99 GPT plates for their fleet of vans and lorries, but unbeknownst to the Fleet department who ordered them, higher ups had been planning a rebrand which was announced a month or so later, the company was now to be called Marconi Communications.

Communications fail.

I like them if they aren't irish and can have a meaning.

An X5 round here has 8MW and a laguna was L600 SER(yes he is).

If I was to get one it would be something like XX JMH for my initials.

It takes a certain kind of person to actually go and check up on somebody's Internet story....

And all done in the same time as it took to write that totally pointless post ;)

I mean come on, it hardly takes a genius to work out BIG KEV isn't a proper reg.

Seen a BMW with something like 3894 as their plate this afternoon, dunno exactly what it was, but was definately 4 numbers long, on highly illegal fonted and coloured numberplates.

Sometimes I don't get why people have private plates, on things like 1.2 basic trim corsa's, probabley costing in excess of £500, which could have been better spent getting either alloy wheels, better engine, or better trim.

So a totally legal car with a totally legal plate from the Channel Islands then?
