Pro Cycling Discussion 2016

Ettixlol

That was a good race but again the tactics of Ettix is just so weird. Dan Martin is in my top 5 favourite riders, that guy is awesome. Steve Cummings is a monumental hard man as well. We all love a have a go hero :D

Strongest man wins on the Mur de Huy.

There's not much to be gained from drafting as its so steep, we saw Purito go and blow up, and Dan Martin do the same. Best to ride your own pace and sprint at the end, I don't really see what tactics would have beaten Valverde as Movistar wouldn't have let anyone strong get up the road ahead of the final ascent.

And from today's reports, we will never see him again.

Link to anything? Not seeing anything new on VeloNews or CyclingNews.

I think the fact he has put any element of doubt at all on that of Team Sky has destroyed his prospects and career path with the team considering their strict stance on the subject. They seem to be sticking by their rider but the news yesterday had them saying they aren't responsible for publishing a report on the rider, yet you think they would do everything in their power to get it published it if completely clears him etc.

It's a strange one.

This.

Next week they will be washing their hands of him and removing him from the website, same as JTL.

The French teams seem to have really pulled their **** together this year.

FDJ had a great TTT at Paris Nice.

At the Giro del Trentino AG2R stacking the top ten with 4 riders there.

Sky leaving Llanda pretty isolated, not sure how they will go in the Giro where he is their leader...

Rodriguez chats with a mate going up a cobbled climb that looks like it would kill most mortals. He does say "Mamma mia" several times, but even so.

Gaspa just cruising up one handed while filming - he must be in some shape!

LBL and Amstel are becoming my favourite races - so many ways to win. I sense ValHairdo tomorrow but the cobbled climb could make a smaller group into the last climb. Big value in Kwiat at 20s - I'm backing a clothing fail at Amstel rather than lost form and he sprints so well from a small group.

Have to say on Sky, Moscon looks like a beast - what a neo pro season he's had already!

Dan Martin is top dude. I want to see him smash the legs off Valverde for the win, it would be glorious. He is my pick.

I don't think Purito is at the level he needs right now, but surely he is going to come real strong during summer now.

I love Bardet, one of my fave riders in the peloton but he just never never comes up trumps with that 0.5% consistency needed to be at the top of the game on a regular basis. I hope this changes with age and experience as he is a class act.

I thought Rui Costa was going to take that over Poels then Alba.

Looked like he was pretending on the climb and expected him to have the best sprint.

Good race, I was cringing at every sharp corner expecting a huge crash from someone's bike just sliding out but it never really happened.

Nah, Costa was on the limit ever since the attack. Alba probably had the best legs, but did too much work on the front. Everyone's just too afraid to attack or commit to a chase when there's so much at stake, they'd rather conserve energy for the finish. Which doesn't make for terribly exciting Ardennes, unfortunately.
