Pro Cycling Discussion 2016

Froome with an ice pack/strapping on his right knee on the podium, hopefully its just a knock and they want to limit the swelling. Get munching those ibuprofens Chris! Hopefully its nothing to worry about too much going into tomorrow.

I do find the team aspect of cycling fascinating. GC leader crashes, his team mate just gets off his bike and gives it up and then waits for a replacement while another team mate paces him back to the front. I can't think of another sport like it.

His name escapes me but his team mate Dutch I believe did a cracking job pacing him all the way to the finish line. Cycling is a brutal sport:o

Well that was more like it! A very good stage to watch with the rain (which has not really affected this years race at all) and a perfectly timed attack. Shame for Yates to drop so much time, hope he can defend tomorrow, but fear the writing is on the wall as he doesn't have a team to help him.

When Froome dropped back looked like it was to talk to Yates, so may be sky will help out the fellow brit trying to get him into contract for next year :D Poels has got to be one of the riders of this tour! So many possible GC winners in that team. The Vuelta is going to definitely be interesting. Few rested folk and guys who will be hoping to hold form through Olympics.

Amazing how much carnage that one section of rain caused. Probably got as many abandons today as in the past week :D Hopefully no serious injuries for anyone still in and those who did abandon.

I need to watch more cycling with like minded people, had mates round to watch the race over a BBQ and good to actually be able to talk about what we thought was going to happen!

Pretty rubbish time penalty given to Yates today. Especially considering the unfair advantage Quintana got on the Ventoux stage where he was hanging onto the motorbike, still got dropped but got given the same time as the group Yates was in.

Awesome stage yesterday. Big respect for Froome, I didn't like the Sky style a few years ago but this year has been awesome.

Kudos to Pierre Rolland, crashes at like 60kmh, spends 2 minutes on the deck, gets back on and still comes 32nd on the stage 8 minutes or so down.

No idea what Astana were doing yesterday.

I think Yates might crack and Porte get 4th.

Froome, Bardet & Quintana podium I think. Valverde is a machine, ridden the Giro, and he's top 10 at the tour. Might have burned himself for the olympics though.
