Pro Cycling Discussion 2016

To the end of 2016 for both of the Yates brothers afaik. Will be interesting to see what happens with them. I know Sky are interested (when aren't they) but bear in mind they did snub Adam back in 2014 when they said they just wanted Simon, and their/British Cycling's potential involvement in leaking Simon's asthma drug result.

Orica are trying to reshape for more of a GC focus anyway though, as much as they can considering they don't have the budget of some of the bigger teams. But they're doing it for Esteban Chaves, who I doubt would leave the team no matter how much money is on the table. Hence their signings last year like Juul Jensen, Rueben Plaza, Amets Txurruka...

I think he's making a mistake tbh. But good luck at the Olympics.

There's only 1 stage left for him - in Paris. and he's lost his main lead-out man too.
He's going to need to train for very short, fast efforts at the olympics and spending hours dragging himself over alpine climbs is going to do nothing to help with that.
He's never won an olympic medal before so I can see why he wants to focus on that rather than trying to add a 31st TdF stage to his collection.

Good finish in the end, all the riders definitely had a mind on next few days! Bauke as expected fell back, and Richie showing how far he has come on. Reckon he'll be bagging that podium if he stops passing black cats and breaking mirrors.

Sky looked uncrackable today, Astana made me laugh when Nibali then Rosa pulled out and Aru just dropped behind Sky. Really intrigued about Quintana, just nothing there at all, and another great ride by Yates. 1,2 for GB hopefully!

Its a shame that another team can't seem to match Sky, but fair play to them, they are doing the business and winning the tour.

Quintana looks to have lost it. Every day i keep thinking "its alright he's saving himself for such and such a day" but when that day comes he seemingly slips back. I'm now beginning to think that this very much isnt part of the plan.

Unless something miraculous happens over the next few days, this is the worst Tour I've had the pleasure of watching. Even the Wiggo win was more exciting.

As much as Im a sky fan and you're not I have to agree..the quinana show has jus failed to materialise thus far and make it in any way interesting up front. Real shame as there have been a few good racing days.

Valverde has been more exciting than Quintana. Dan Martin has attacked more. Adam Yates rode past him yesterday. He's just nowhere.

Yates is having an absolutely storming tour. He's got no team around him, so seeing him mix it up with everyone else is like the GC equivalent of Cav's "freelancing" his way to sprint wins.

Today's TT will be interesting. If Porte paces himself sensibly this time around he should gain a decent bit of ground.

Rosa's lights went out big style, he could barely pedal when he dropped off the front.

Wout Poels was hugely impressive yesterday
